A little late...03/06/09

We got the hospital around four and I got changed and waited around for about an hour. Then my nurse came in and started getting things set up. By five-thirty I was hooked up to the pitocin, almost four cm dilated and having irregular contractions that I couldn't feel. The nurse said they were strong, just irregular. My doctor came in around six-thirty and broke my water. I was about four and a half cm. And oh my gosh, the difference in contractions before and after he broke my water was insane. I held off until nine-thirty before I said give me the epi. I really wanted to go without but honestly it just wasn't going to work. I napped off and on until eleven. I was five cm by now. My doc joked that he wanted me to be done and on the recovery floor before he went for dinner at five. An hour later I was ten cm. They let me labor down until around one. Then they came in and started getting things set up for me to push.
I started pushing around 1:45. X hadn't been handling the contractions well near the end. His heart rate was dropping really low with each one. My doc said he was having trouble fitting through, because each time I pushed his head would be right there but couldn't make it out. So he gave me and episiotomy, I ended up with a third degree cut. But a push later he was out. X was born at 2:00 PM on the dot, weighed 7 pounds .04 ounces and was 20 1/4 inches long.
He's amazing. Typically only cries when he's hungry or needs to be changed. I’m still in awe that he’s mine, I love him so much more than I ever thought possible.

I haven't been online as much lately, so I apologize on the late congratulations, but Congratulations!!! Your story was nice to read, wish mine was as nice sounding as yours, lol. I too had to have a 3rd degree cut, ugh, sucks doesn't it??
I don't see any pics, but your avi is SOOO cute!! You did a great job, he's handsome!

Oh don't worry about it being late! I understand being busy. Yes, the cut sucks! I thought it was getting better, but it still hurts sometimes. I'm almost three weeks pp...I want it to stop!
Photobucket went crazy on me and messed up a bunch of my links, hence no pictures. But my avi was one of them.   Thank you though, I think we both have adorable boys. We better watch out in a few years!

Yes I posted mine, lol. I probably went a lil overboard but oh well haha. Yes we need to watch these lil guys in the future!
