Good ol medical.... and I'm a federal employee.... its bullsmurf. They do everything to prevent us form getting insurance it seems... AND we don't get disability OR maternity leave!!

is that suppost to say medicade? if not look into getting it. you can get other insuracnes thru medicade as well i.e. blue cross, independent healthy, etc. and it doesnt take much to qualify. I really need to get to sleep my baby shower is later today!!! message me!

I had a cholecystectomy (gall bladder removal surgery) 6 weeks after delivering my little girl in '05. Never heard hormones as a reason for my gall bladder freaking out on me, but that an overload of calcium (I craved milk and dairy 24/7 as is normal with carrying a girl) can cause it to become inflamed.

I never knew this was here . I never had any issues with my gallbladder (that I knew of ) until a few months after I had my daughter . The night of the NBA finals I was having crazy pains and I thought I was about to die , literally . I thought I was having cramps because my period was due any day .

I finally decided to drive myself to the hospital and they did a pregnancy test BFN and then an ultrasound . They found the stones which they said would pass but decided to just take the gall bladder out to avoid the issue in the future . I have no felt any sort of abdominal pain (besides cramps) since I got it done.

I do hate that the scars are so freaking visible but I will that these over that pain any day .

i have had the same symptoms off and on for two years ive been in the er 3 times. each time i was told there was nothing wrong with my gallbladder after they drugged me up and put me on a diet. no spicy or greesy foods. chocoloate caffiene or nicotine. now im pregnant and have insurance and it seems to hae mellowed out im afraid ill have another flair while im prego

I believe I would rather give birth than to have gallbladder problems again. I was about 19 when I had mine removed. Mine started one night after dinner and I stayed awake all night with the pain. I tried a warm bath,regular otc meds and even went as far as using a vibrator on my side to see if that would massage the pain away. I made it until about 5am and had a friend call my parents to come help me because I didn't have transportation or a phone..but luckily had internet so my online friend calls my parents from Seattle and they think its someone playing a prank until they get to my house lol. I got to the hospital and they were changing shifts and unwilling to do anything until they felt like it. So my smart self goes to the bathroom,I lie down on the floor and have my mom go tell them that I've fallen. That got them going so they come wheeling me through the lobby tearing my clothes off trying to get me into the back to help me. After a few hours of testing and my Dad talking crap to the doctor they decided I need emergency surgery to have my gallbladder removed!

Dh and I had no clue what was happening or that I was having surgery until they came in wanting us to sign the in case you die papers. After that I was in surgery,woke up with them dangling my panties in a baggie over me so I felt violated a little. Stayed in the hospital overnight and went home the next day for a two week recovery. Biggest mistake ever was not knowing what greasy foods could do to me after having my gb removed. We went straight to McDonald's..need I say more? That wasn't very pleasant. Everything is great now. I can barely see the tiny scars from the surgery and my tummy doesn't act up so bad.

I do have pictures of my insides during the surgery..its not gross or anything but its kind of weird seeing what my insides look like. If I had them on this laptop I would post them for those that wanted to see. But that's my gb story  

Whn pregnant with my 4 year old, I developed gallstones at 4 months along. They weren't too bad at first, but by the end of my pregnancy I was having 10 hour attacks and throwing up bile everytime I ate. The doctor said they wouldn't take it out till after I had my little girl. After I had her via C-section they just got worse. Finally 2 months after they finally took it out. I am so glad I don't have to deal with gallstones this time.

I had my gallbladder removed and conceived 1 month after having it out. Having it out is not necessarily a cure-all and I am still having problems from it. I am working closelt with my ob-gyn, GI doc, and surgeon and have arrived at a simple solution:
-no dairy, low fat diet
-Vitamin D and calicum supplements on top of prenatals

I have had few problems since we have come up with a pregnancy plan, because it was quite painful for a while! Good luck to all of the women waiting to find out what the problem is. It took 6 months and 5 different doctors to diagnose me! They assumed I was having panic attacks! Stand up for your health!
