re: Your Gallbladder! [Know more.]

Thank you for posting this my Mother had to have her gallbladder removed when she was 30 six months after delivering twin boys, she waited seven years for the doctors to come up with the right diagnosis and not label her as having anxiety attacks by the time she got into surgery she weighed 105lb at 5 foot 5 inch cause it hurt to much to eat anything. Since then my Aunt & Grandmother have had to have there gallbladder out they probably would not of though anything about the pain and symptoms if my Mother would not have been diagnosed properly
Once again thank you for posting this I hope it helps some one that has been suffering for quite a long time and has not been able to find answers

i was put in the hospital for a little over a week because of my gallbladder when i was 25 weeks pregnant they thing that scared them was i was starting to have jaundice i mean my whole body was yellow and my eyes was yellow ( i was having liver problems too) we found out that the hypermissin (morning sickness time 1000) was my gallbladder the whole time so i was having trouble the whole pregnancy they sent me to Indianapolis to the iu medical center so i can have the procedure done to get some of the stones out but they wasn't able to get them all out so they put stints in my bile duct and after i give birth (i'm 36 weeks thursday due jan 20th) about 2 weeks i'm going to have my gallbladder and the stints and the rest of the stones taken out till then they have me on an anti puking pill and mild pain medications to control it so i don't have to go to the hospital every time that i have an attack it gets so bad that i can't move cause of the pain and they also have me on a low fat diet to try to keep it under control

when I was 5 months pregnant I was hurled over in pain at the office... when I got to the DR they took a urine sample and said they saw some blood... they refused to do an ultrasound and told me it was probably braxtinhicks contractions and that I was over reacting they gave me an antibiotic incase of an infection because of the blood. When my son was 3 weeks old I was in so much pain I thought I was going to die... I was having chest pains, abdominal pain, back pain I was carrying him around hunched over... I finally went to the hospital when they told me I had gallstones... the next morning they stuck something down my throat to suck out the gallstones and the next day they went in laparoscopic surgery and ended up having to cut me open... the surgeon told me I was dying on the table... when I went in for my 6 week check-up I explained to my dr what had happend and she simply replied "Oh! I am sorry" it was unbelievable!

I had my first Gallbladder attack when i was 8 weeks pregnant. It was the worst feeling i've ever felt. I dealt with it my whole pregnancy. Anything would trigger and attack. We always thought it was the baby moving around or something so I never said anything.
I have partial Dextrocardia, my Gallbladder was reversed, so i always felt my pain right in the middle of my chest and it would go straight to my back. It would last for HOURS. I remember one time i had it all day long. I'd throw up everything in my stomach and more, but i would throw up just the once. It was so bad i actually lost weight when i was pregnant.
After I had my son and he was about 6 weeks old i had another attack so i knew it wasn't the baby. My husband took me to the ER and we were there for 13 hour just for them to tell me it was GERD. We left the hospital with a prescription for Nexium and a bottle of Maalox. We went to McDonalds to eat and right after i ate my first few nuggets i had another attack. So I called the ER and told them that i was having the pain again and all that said was take what you were prescribed. That attack finally went away some time around midnight. The next day we went to a bbq and after i ate i got the pain again. So my husband took me back to the hospital and they did more lab work and the ER doctor came in and told me that my Gallbladder should have been removed when i was at the ER yesterday. So i had my Gallbladder removed and went pain free for about 3 months. Then i got another attack my doctor told me that i probably had a stone stuck so he put me on an antibiotic and prescribed me oxycodone for pain and the stone eventually busted up and i passed it. That was about a month ago. So far i have been pain free and i hope it stays that way.
One thing that helped me alot when i was pregnant and couldn't take pain medicane was a hot shower and a massage. I put rice in a sock and would put it in the microwave for a few mins and then put it on my back and that would ease the pain alot.

I LOVE that I came across this!!! I have been having sharp pains for like 2 months now, and it recently started hurting in the same spot but on my back. Everyone says oh its something caught there or the way the baby is laying or bc im soo small my ribs are being squished, but I only feel it on one side. My other side feels perfectly fine. I know what a kick feels like, and its NOTHING compared to this. It feels like im being stabbed! And its not the way the baby is laying because since it first started hurting she has moved about sooo much, and shes done a complete 180 since then and it hurts the same... I need to look into this...

I've been having gallbladder issues since August 2009 after having my son. Aside from attacks, I was in constant aching pain for months and NO ONE would take me seriously. Now I am pregnant again, and I have experienced a HORRIFIC attack. I refuse to believe that many people who have suffered attacks have suffered one as painful as mine. I called 911 as it persisted for over an hour and to the point I thought I had a parasite that had eatin through all of my intestines and lungs... it was horrible.
Here's the FUN part. No ONE will take my insurance, or lack of... (it's a $900 share of cost) and when the EMTs came out I was told not to go to ER because they wouldn't treat me because I was pregnant. I later learned about infection, and I am CERTAIN I had/have one. After experiencing constant pain and losing 5lbs in 2 days, I went in to ER. THe DR told me "well you don't have gallstones, you have sludge in your gallbladder and IDK what that is so call your DR." he then told me to take IB profen. I told him I was pregnant. He tried to recover by saying its safe in early pregnancy. I said "I'm 22 weeks"... how smurfing MUCH DO YOU LIE YOU IDIOT>>!!??>! This is MY LIFE, my WELLBEING....
I called and asked my OB to get the scan results fromthe hospital so SHE could refer me, and I still haven't heard back....
CAn ANYONE offer me advice. I am 22 weeks pregnant and I KNOW the safest time to have it removed is during the second trimester, which is nearing an end here... I am in CONSTANT pain and I eat low fat foods and am terrified to eat at that... even water aggrevates it... please help!!

My Mother had her gallbladder removed in 2001. I have bad memory from a brain injury so I may not remember exactly when she had her surgery, but I know it was early in the 2000's. I have always had these sharp stabbing pains in my chest, usually on my left side. Pregnancy has made these pains worse and I went to the hospital about the pain last night. I have never had a diagnosis about these pains. My general doctor told me that it's growing pains and I had a second opinion done and he told me it was panic attacks. Now, I will admit I do have two anxiety disorders: general anxiety disorder and social anxiety. These pains are getting to the point where they are unbearable.
Does anyone know what these pains could possibly be?

Anxiety is a common misdiagnosis for gallblader disease. I would demand an ultrasound

I had a surgery schedualed 3 days after i foundout i was pregnant to get my gal bladder removed because of gal-stones but cancelled surgey after i foundout I was pregnant. I just got another ultra sound done on it a couple days ago and my gal stones have gotten bigger and I have developed some sort of pollup on it as well. I have been having horrible galbladder pains even though i am eating less then 15 grams of fat a day! My ob said i might have to get my gal bladder removed while still in the hospital after delivery. I plan on breastfeeding. I am worried if i have to get surgery i will not be able to breastfeed because of the drugs used for my surgery. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what i can do to still breastfeed?

you didnt even post this thread i don't think???... there are tons more people that shared their story on here so why are u asking me to bring mine elsewhere? Also, i wasnt worried about antibiotics I was worried about pain meds getting to baby thru my breastmilk.

ah ha ha ha..... I thought I was in my thread. lol And if you do have pain meds that will interfere, you can just pump and dump. However, there are pain meds they give you for inflaimed gallbladders while pregnant, so I am certain they'll have something similar for brestfeeding. I had to take antibiotics for weeks becauase my infection wouldn't go away (but Drs were too smurfing stupid to think.. hmm gallbladder?) anyway, I had to pump and dump. If I didn't have milk problems to begin with, it would've been fine.

lol i was all hormonal like who is this chick? lmao. A lot of people keep daying to pump and dump but my ob said i may have to get the surgery while in the hospital after baby (because my galbladder is so bad) depending how i feel. So im worried if i do have to get it done so soon that my milk won't even have come in yet. =/ hopefully ill be able to wait.

Yeah... I am confused because the reason you cant' get the sergury is because your uterous is in the way and it doesn't shrink until weeks after birth.... but I'm not a DR.... so don't trust my opinion! lol
