Positive & Negative PT test **UPDATE**

HI ladies. Its been awhile since ive been on here. I was a regular 2 years ago when I was pregnant with my son and after I had him.

Ok so. I have an IUD and even with the IUD my period has been regular for the first time in years. So I realized I was 2 weeks late, and ive been cramping alittle. I took a PT test yesterday morning(first pee of the day) and it was positive. So I freaked out(Happy freaking out). I called my PCP and all of the Drs. in the office were all booked, so I talked to a nurse and they told me to take another PT test and to let them know, but that they still wouldnt be able to get me in till next week sometime. Which kinda pissed me off because if I am pregnant I need to get the IUD out ASAP because I know the possibility of having a miscarriage because of the IUD is higher. Anyways, took another one and this one was negative... So all nght I didnt sleep because I had already gotten a little excited and now I was worried and disappointed.

So hubby and I decided to go to Planned Parenthood this morning to see what happens, because atleast if it does come up positive then they can take the IUD out. Im just worried because I was surgery 7 months ago, and Im not supposed to get pregnant for another 6 months, but.. it happened.. maybe. Anyways, what do you think? Thanks again.

Maybe the one test is a bit more sensative than the other test....thus picking up the pregnancy hormone sooner. I was told by my OB that you rarely get a false positive, but its pretty common to get false negatives.

Did you do both tests on the same day? Maybe your urine was just too diluted on the second one. Try again with FMU or try and go 4 hours without peeing or drinking very much.

I've heard of a false negative but never a false positive.. Did you take one earlier in the day than the other? There is a higher concentration of the pregnancy hormone in the morning than there is later in the day.

the purple on kinda looks like an evap line? is that the older one?

I would think positive, b/c I have also heard it is more common to get false negatives than positives. Good luck.

I agree...this is what I heard as well!!!!

i can see 2 lines in each.. then again it could be my eyesight is bad. i inverted and could still see 2 lines in the top test and the cross in the bottom one.

do as leigh said and maybe try a digi?

The purple one(+) was the first pee of the day and I took the second one like an hour and a half later.. haha. Also the purple one was a $15 dollar GENERIC one from Walgreens that hubby bought and the second was is a first responce that was $6 dollars.. So thats also why I freaked because I always thought the First Responce one was better especially better than a generic one. But I dont know.. I guess we will see. Im pretty nervous and I do really want to be pregnant. Hubby and I are ready even though my Dr. Will be mad.. OPPS.

Well there you go, you didn't wait anywhere near long enough  . Get another FR and hold your pee longer  

how long after you did the test did the 2nd line appear?

The purple one is how mine looked when I first found out I was pregnant. Same kind of test too. I think the second is just negative because you took it so soon after the first. Congrats mama. Looks like your expecting another LO!

With the Positive it was immediate and with thenegative one it took like 30 seconds.. Why? Does that mean something?

When I found out I was pregnant with my son I thought I must have been like 2 months along, but I was BARELY 2 weeks along.. I knew like right away.
