Oh hun, i'm so sorry, so many bumps in the road   I was really praying things would go smoothly for you both now.

For us it was at 3 months our LO got off the vent, started b/feeding and down to high flow canula... then after about 3 weeks he crashed just like Wyatt did. It wasn't long after that he had RSV, although at the time they said it was exhaustion that triggered it in the first place. Once he got over the worst of thevirus he got his g-tube to save more energy and stop the irritation on his lungs, so he could get back on to the canula again. They also said that an infection stirring can commonly cause them to crash like that when they have CLD/BPD, but it's just another thing that they overcome.

...I know how frustrating it is, you feel like everytime you make progress something happens and sets you back, each time it's more scary too. Please know you aren't alone though, no matter how difficult things feel.

I hope it's just exhaustion from all that work he's being doing too, and things will improve and pick up again soon and continue to progress as before. Sending big hugs to you both x

Wyatt has been diagnosed with Congenital CMV. The viral level in his body tells the story. We now have to run tons more tests to find out what this does to him and how it makes this worse. I will try and keep you updated. Everything feels like it is slow motion right now.

It's so hard hearing 'wait and see' with prognosis, i hope you get all the info and support you need. I suppose with being premature and having RDS it must be harder to diagnose. He didn't show symptoms at birth though did he? I feel so terrible you've both gone through so much, i wish there was something i could do...

They have called in the surgeons as well now....
they are going to put a trach and a g-tube in him. They were looking at next week but because he is having such a horrible time they are speeding it up as fast as they can
