My baby is due in March and I can't take the combined pill anyway. I was on the mini pill years ago then I have recently heard about the Mirena coil. Do you know if this is a contraceptive as well? I don't want to gain loads of weight either. I managed to slim down nearly four stone to get pregnant and fell straight away. That was after five years of trying on and off! However, I know that this coil helps your periods? I know that they will discuss all this with me. If it comes to it we will use condoms. Just feel a bit clueless about it all. Also I'm aware you can be very fertile just after your first baby and I want a good gap in between. Especially as I'm physically disabled despite this I have a normal life and use walking aids and car adaptions. I know it's early to think about all this but it is a concern.

What's the best BC for someone who hasn't had kids and doesn't want anything hormonal? My husband is weird about not wanting to wear a condom. We've used the POM but I don't want to chance getting pregnant for next year or so.

I actually took my Mirena out MYSELF two days ago, no lie. I had the worst experience ever with that darn thing.. I had the worst cramps.. Mood swings from Satan himself.. and at least two (sometimes three) menstrual cycles within a month. It was birth control from hell. It has even stabbed my SO during intercourse.. That's one way to prevent pregnancy.. Making your SO scared to have sex with you will surely work. I'd rather be on the pill honestly.

You're crazy to do that yourself. However, I can understand where you're coming from. I hated it too, and I made myself wait a year till I asked for it to be removed.
My DH also got stabbed a few times lol.

It's been almost two months since I removed it and I must say that is the best decision I have ever made. I have friends that have the Mirena, and it works like it's supposed to with them.. Then I have other friends who are going through the exact same thing as I did. I'm trying to tell you people.. The Mirena is NO GOOD!!!

The way my moods were with this thing ... I was two seconds shy of being CRAZY lol. I had it in for almost two years and I knew that something wasn't right.. And a woman knows her body well enough to know something is not right.

I am so leary about birth control because my body is so sensitive. After an ectopic pregnancy when my baby was 6 mths old, and then having to have one of my fallopian tubes removed, I was scared. So i went on this "NEW" mini pill and I bled on and off so I stopped taking it and two weeks later, I'm still bleeding!!!!! I'm so frustrated about the whole situation.

I have a cyst on my right ovary and was put on Lo Loestrin Le. I don't like being on hormonal BC, but I'm limited on options.
