After reading more about the paragaurd, I'm kind of dreading getting it... I already get severe menstrual cramps and I don't need those to increase! Plus I don't want PID or any other complications... it sucks though because I don't want to gain weight so the pill is out of the question and my only other option is the depo shot.
My boyfriend's (who is my son's father) dad is good friends with my OBGYN though and I know I have to get some sort of contraceptive. Honestly though I'd rather just use condoms...

I was on Nuvaring and got pregnant in that week when I took it out. I wasn't going to go back on them because of mood swings and maybe I was a day or two past my protection from the ring and didn't use any other protection. OK, I'm fine with that because I'm very happy to be expecting my first. When I went off the hormones though I got the WORST headaches of my life for a few weeks. Nothing would touch them, not Ibupropen, acetomenopen, etc. I also got post-coital headaches during that time and I really don't want to go back on hormones, but I do want good protection after this baby because I dont want another one for a least 3 years. My question is what is the best non-hormonal contraception? Is the copper IUD any good?

Advice needed ladies;
I got the depo shot after giving birth to my son in August of 2011, I didn't get my period really but the third month right before it was time to get my shot renewed I would get my period for nearly two weeks straight & get really bad cramps, plus I gained 10 pounds so I ditched that method & went back on the pill.
I am taking Sprintec, a generic of Ortho Cyclin, I get very nausea after taking it & am constantly sick all day with stomach pains. I've only been on it for a week though so I am hoping some of these symptoms will susbside eventually.
I'm getting a little discouraged though, I feel like nothing is working right. I know some side effects are normal but the painful cramps I got with depo & the stomache pains I am getting with Sprintec is affecting my ability to live a normal life.
How are IUD's?, I use to not like the idea of something sitting inside of me for that long but I think I should look into other options.

Nothing is 100% effective unless ur not having sex! I got pregnant w/my 2nd on the pill, but I was taking antibiotics and wasn't told to use back up! I got pregnant w/this one on the pill too, but we found out the bc was recalled, the pills were out of order. After I have this one I'm getting my tubes tied, burnt and will using some type of bc. A few women in my fam have gotten preg w/their tubes tied, so I'm not trusting that! We're going to use back up, no make that triple back up!!!!

Ok, I'm too lazy to read everything..
What's a good birth control that:
-Won't affect my milk supply
-Won't make me gain more weight?
We used condoms and got Isabella, who I love, but I'm not trying to have two kids both in diapers. I'm allergic to spermicide and can't remember to take a pill for the life of me. :/

I got pregnant using the Depo shot, Got pregnant using the patch. but then when we were trying i took nothing & didnt get pregnant for 2 years, go figure
I had the IUD for 5 years before having it taken out when we decided to have another baby

ouch the IUD sounds painful and I have heard women have bleeding issues with it and having not had a vaginal birth I think it would hurt being inserted.
I might just go back on the combined pill, I was taking loette and had no issues with it in regards to weight gain but did get hormonal and lots of headaches but it went after a month and condoms always work especially during ovulation, I like to be over cautious now I have a small newborn and use both condoms and the combined pill
