Solid foods question!!!

So when did you start your baby on solids like single grain cereals?


Adriel is almost 3 months old he sits supported and holds his head up without any problems and he is begining to be interested in my food lol.... so is it time to start ceareals?

6 months, as recommended by the AAP.

i started tyler at 6 mos. the recommended age is no younger than 4 mos but 6 mos is strongly recommended. a lot of mommies start their LOs at 4 mos and they are fine though. your LO will let you know he is not ready if you try at 4 mos and his tongue thrust reflex is still so strong that he just pushes it out of his mouth. just make sure when you do that it is off of a spoon and never in a bottle.

I would talk to your pediatrition about it. Some doctors are fine with starting at 4 months but some want people to wait till they are 6 months.

Sara started cereal at 3 months, but I would ask your doctor.

They usually recommend 4 months, I think.........

from what i have been told by my pedi its best to wait till 5-6 months because if you start too early theres more of a chance for food allergy. their tummies arent ready to digest it yet. thats what i have been told, so i waited

They recommend between 4-6 months. My son was holding his head up and everything but he wasnt ready til he was almost 6 months.

I waited till 6 months. That is what the my Dr and the american academy of pedi recommends. They have no need for it before then.

we started t 4 mths. stage 1 baby food. peas, carrots and sweet potatoes. She is 5 mths now and just started on fruit today.

tried the rice twice. that was a no.

my son rejected the cereal too at first. until we started mixing fruits and veggies in it.now he gobbles it up!

we got earths best oats yesterday. prolly gona try then tmrw. we got peaches, pears, bananas and applesauce
