**Drug and alcohol abuse support thread**

PLEASE READ THE RULES TO THIS THREAD BEFORE POSTING HERE!
This is not a drama thread, so please don't turn it into one!

I haven't seen another one of these, so I thought I would start one.....This thread will be for anyone who is dealing with drug or alcohol abuse!! It is a support thread for addicts, family members of addicts, loved ones of addicts, friends of addicts, etc......
This will be a place for us to talk about our experiences with drug and/or alcohol abuse and the effects it has had on our lives and/or our relationships with our loved ones........Feel free to offer your support, your knowledge and experiences, heartaches and triumphs!! However DO NOT attack anyone for their current situation!! If you cannot control yourself and offer some type of support to someone who is sharing their story, then please do not post here! Please DO NOT post your petty drama comments in here, this is NOT the place for it! If you have a problem with someone here, you have 3 options:
1) Send them a PM so you can discuss it amongst yourselves!
2) Take your "call outs" to CFC http://forum.baby-gaga.com/about550374.html
3) PM myself or Deana "Damian and Marlee" and we will try to help!

This is NOT a debate thread!! Everyone knows that drugs and alcohol are destructive.......So, please reserve all negative comments and/or judgements!! That doesn't mean you have to agree with the poster!! However, some people may be reluctant to post, for fear of being judged! Those are the people who need this thread the most!! After all, sharing is the first step to making a change!! Feel free to share as much or as little as you want.....Or wait until you feel the time is right for you to do so...... But please at least post something about yourself, so that we may all get to know you!


There is also a chat room for this thread! It's used mostly for people who want/need to talk about something that's going on, but don't want it public for everyone to judge..... Although a lot of times, we just go in there to talk about kids, work, depression, the weather, whatever is on our minds....

I am pretty much an addict of any and everything....I have been addicted to alcohol, percocet, vicodin, cigarrettes, soma, gambeling, food....My biggest problem though is cocaine, for sure!! I have been completely clean and sober now since February 11, 2008!!

My name is Kelli Jo and my mother is an addict.

This was a wonderful idea. I will add to it later.  

I would like to join.. and just show support. I haven't used drugs in 3-4 years. But I lost my dad to a drug overdose, and my mother to suicide (while she was on drugs.)

Is that okay?

What about other forms of addiction?  Can we include those as well?  Or do you want drug and alcohol thread?

Im Katie. I have used just about everything man made or not during my party days. My drug of choice was acid.
I was addicted to prescription pills, Oxys, xanax, ect.
I still smoke green, and drink on occasion, and take my prescribed 10 mg methadone a day.
I have come a verrry long way, and as of now im trying to get down to 5 mgs a day and soon i will be off them for good.
eta: i have a loved one who is suffering from a meth addiction...it is so sad he isn't even the person he used to be..

My father is an alcoholic and coke addict. (my parents have been divorced for years.)
My mom is a coke addict too.

When I was 15 I meet my ex. He got me to do triple C's with him. I got addicted to that, a few months later we started doing coke. I was addicted to both. Around September 06' I got clean. My ex was abusive, so I would drink a bottled of wine almost every day for 2-3 months, so I wouldn't feel the pain. I left him in April 07. I've been clean for over 2 years now.

Same here, and prescription pain killers.

My name is Ashley and my sons father was an addict. He was addicted to pills and finally after about a year and a half he got help and is seeing a therapist and on Suboxone which is a pill to block the receptors in your brain that crave the pills hes been clean for about 3 months now but it took a toll on our relationship and we are now broken up. He used to take money we needed to get pills and then had to borrow money and now we're in the hole with bills and things. For people who are addicted to pills I suggest you find a doctor/therapist that give suboxone cuz not all Drs. do it will be the best thing you could do for yourself and your family.

this is a great thread!! I've been wanting to post threads about how things like this affect me and i would like to help/support people change.
My name is Marissa, im 19 years old, and my mother and father are addicts.  

i'm Courtney and I'm an Addict. I have been sober for 11 months, I almost lost my sister to a drug over dose this V-day weekend. I have a long family history of alcoholics and trying my best to stay away from drinking. Its not easy wanting to drink at such a young age, but now that I have my baby she has helped me alot<3

I'm Chelsea, & I have a few loved ones that abuse drugs/alcohol.

I have one uncle that abuses alcohol & is currently incarcerated. I have another uncle that abused drugs, & is now in prison for life because of things that he's done while under the influence. I have an aunt who has lost children for being addicted to drugs, & is also in jail for her 3rd DUI. My sons father has abused alcohol & drugs ever since he was 15 years old, & just got out of the hospital a couple days ago for alcohol poisoning.
