i feel like this thread is just for letting people know you're going to chat.

i have seen very few real posts since i joined... not that it's a bad thing per se, just that it's not very promising for new people to enter it.

I think we've all shared (at least 99% of us) have shared our story, and what we have or are currently dealing with.... We all feel more comfortable in chat becaus of people who sometimes come in here to lurk or save screen shots or whatever.... Anyone, who has asked for the PW and has said they are in need of some sort of support (for themselves or someone else) has gotten the PWd. Chat is much faster than post and reply and wait for reply back.... And I have only seen two people out of the 80 pages, who said they didn't receive any support here....
As addicts, we have all done some pretty shitty stuff... It's one thing to put, "Hey I'm a total Cocaine addict, and I weigh 100lbs. and I really want to go to rehab before I lose everything. Anyone else get muscle spasms or headaches when they went through withdrawl?".... Than it is to say "OMG, I just pawned my sister's wedding ring for crack. Now it's been sold and I can't get it back and I had the baby in the car with me, and she's coming home in ten mnutes and I'm high, what should I do?".... Ya know?

I totally agree with you Suzie. I've shared some stuff in the chat room that I could NEVERRRR tell anyone else. Its pretty much my *only* means of support right now. I guess it takes one to know one..

Exactly. If you are not an addict or struggling personally in your daily life with someone who does have an addiction then it would be very hard to understand...... But since we are all on the same boat we are just doing the best we can and using each other as our life vests. Were all just here trying to support each other...

I think the chat option is what makes this thread so "safe" and thus sucessful. Knowing that what you share is going to be kept 100% confidential really encourages people to let loose and share things they wouldnt on a public thread.

In other news: 5 days sober.  

Congratulations Jamie! And ya know i have to disagree that having a chat makes it less promissing for new people to join. There are new people sharing their stories everyday in this thread and there are over 30 members subscribed to the chat thread. I would say that makes this a very successful support thread to say the least!!!

i didnt celebrate yesterday... Now Alleigh wakes up earlier and earlier which means i have to be awake longer each day.. boo.. I need a second job to keep things off my mind.. i'm going crazy...

My biological mother ditched out on me when i was less than a year old... i've never met her... thats where most my problems come from.. abandonment...
I drink to fill my void.. plus.. i got pregnant.. to prove i could be a better mom.. and where i'm at now.... i'm the same as her...
