Darn it all- this is called something- this technique. The brightness of the whites and the white background. Phooey it's going to drive me nuts!

I like them. I think for this it works. I think with her hair being lighter youll have to be careful with it in the future. I think it would be amazing with dark haired children andvividly contrasting clothing. Or vivid solid clothing. KWIM?

If I can think of what it's called- I share it. It's going to bother me ahhhhhhh. I saw some other photog doing it- he is into it and he is careful with it and works for him. It was so long ago now though that I can't recall who or anything.

I really like both shots- the white balance looks good to me. Is it on auto? I suck at white balance! LOL I like the angle of the first and liek the shadow falling on the face in the second.

Yes everything was on manual EXCEPT white balance ;). Because I had the light from the window hitting them, but in the playroom itself I had the overhead light on because when I was shooting them in there it was too dark, because it was a cloudy day ;).

M-Manual mode.
Auto WB
f/ 2.0 I belive (I could be wrong)...
ISO either 400 or 800
and shutter speed 1/100 I belive...

How do I know for sure what settings I used? I know If I instealled lightroom 2.0 it would give me the stats if I clicked on a pic, but I am waiting for my computer to come in, because hubbys laptop broke, and I am using our VERY OLD SLOW RUN DOWN PC.

Nikon Girl ~ The technique is called "High Key" and yeah only certian combo's work the best with it. I have never personally tried it.

Canon Girl ~ go to your pictures folder find the picture you want to see your settings on and right click then left click on properties. Go to summary tab click on advanced.

That's awesome! I always have a hard time remembering what settings I used, which sucks when you finally get a good picture!
