Is Non-Vaccination (or Partial-Vaccination) safe?

posted 19th Feb
We've discussed a bazillion quadrillion times whether or not vaccines are safe.

What I'd like to discuss is whether or not you think it's safe (to the child and/or the community)for a child to remain unvaccinated or only partially vaccinated.

Why or why not? Let's see some links supporting your views, too.

My main reason for feeling it's not safe is that both my grandfather and mother had polio. It's a very scary illness. I do however, believe in spacing out vaccinations.

All these vaccines and everything makes me wonder how people every survived 100's of years ago...
My mom is a strong believer in fresh air and proper eating habits.
My brother sister and I all turned out fine with out most of our vaccines.

i dont have links supporting it but there is a breakout of whooping cough in melbourne, australia(near where i live) because parents aren't vaccinating children, had the childrne been vaccinated they would not have gotten whooping cough or it would not be so dangerous. i believe that if its available to be vaccinated against then i will do it, i would rather take the TINY risk of my child having a small allergic reaction then having it die because it was not vaccinated

letting children get sick on their own lets their body create antibodies to that disease. When they receive a vaccine, it does not allow that to happen. Sometimes the body will start to attack itself because the vaccine contains a live virus. When children contact something they have a better chance of getting it through their system then they do when they are older. Diseases are far worse when you are older. We will be delaying vaccines until Soren is 2, and then only giving him four of them. And, most people dont even know what is in the vaccine they are giving their child!

I get why some moms dont like vaccinations b/c of autism but I try to look at the big picture [[even though they will be looking for autism with Conner too, he had really early signs]] but I think with conner it was just a phase. If you look at the big picture and see all the kids get vaccinated vs the ones that have autism it is a big difference I think that there would be more kids that had it if it was the vaccinations I think the vaccinations protect our kids from things that could possibly hurt them or even potentially kill them. I get where the autism moms are coming from they dont know where autism comes from and want to point it at something and their child was fine before age too so what happened, and thats really all they can think about, I did the same thing with Conner but I have to think god gave me this child so I am going to be the best advacate I can be and make ppl aware even though ppl dont know how AVM is formed and its just anomoly sorry if I offended anyone   LOVE ALL YOU MAMAs

the risk of catching a disease isfar less then is getting sick from the vaccine....and by getting the vaccine it does not guarantee immunity

the reason a child can get sick has nothing to do with the actual vaccine, it is indirectly from another virus. The body begins directing the white blood cells to protect against the mimicked virus vaccine, so it is less likely to fight off other common viruses.

My main issue with this is that it is demanded that parents prove the safety of vaccines, but no one is asked to prove the non-safety of non-vaccination.

Yes, there have been some outbreaks of some of the diseases in areas where parents don't vaccinate as much, but there have also been outbreaks in fully vaccinated populations. Also, we have the means to easily treat the diseases, but the documented side effects of vaccines are not so easily treatable.

edited: demanded that parents prove the "un" safety of vaccines.

sorry.

the rumors of vaccinations being bad has caused a huge rise in the spread of disease in America over the past 5 years.
