5month old fights to sleep

my 5 month old son fights to sleep and its getting very aggravating to me. its like when i put him in his crib he still thinks he sucking on something and moving around alot. like last night i put him into bed at like 8:00 and then he woke up at like 11:20. and was up until like 2 in the morning..

what should i do. i have tried everything and nothing works..help!!

you can try CIO with him in another month or so.

mine fights her sleep too. i dont know what you can do i'd like to know too.

i do that already and it still does nothing.

have you tried not letting him sleep more than a hour and a half at a time when he sleeps during the day. Maybe he's just not tired enough to sleep all the way through the night.

My daughter does this too. But she is only over a month old. I just give her a bath and feed her.She usually falls asleep an hour later.But gets up every couple hours to eat.Broken sleep SUCKS! I feel ya!

He's only 5 months. There's no reason you should be CIO right now! He's too young!

have you tried the ferber method, where you let them CIO for increments of time?

i just had a mommy in another thread say she lets her 1 mo old CIO. and her doc okays it. what kinda smurf is that? thats just ridiculous.

Her baby was ONE month! I couldn't believe it. All i could think was "Umm...she's a month old...if she's crying...odds are there is a good reason.
Jesus. Some people want to have these cute little things to play with and dress up, but don't want to do any real parenting. (Not you OP)

I remember just thinking to myself "Don't type anything, just go away from this thread" I was gonna snap. She was bitching about not getting any sleep, and the baby cries all the time....i was like, WTF did you think parenting was gonna be like? It's not rainbows and kittens 24/7

It IS too kittens 24/7!!!!   (we have 9 cats....)

im daughter use to fight her sleep all the time now she only does it every now or then...her doctor siad it was from not having enough sleep at naptime but he should grow out of it
