Yeah here's a thought... We called viacord from an ad in one of the parents or parenting magazines for the free brochure.. They called us on our cellphones several times a week for months to see if we wanted to do it or not... We could not have afforded it anyways but if we could've, we would not have gone with viacord!

Cord Blood Registry (CBR) is the largest private bank for cord blood. Viacord is the second largest. I wouldn't go to any smaller banks. Need a bank with stability. Cryo-cell is a lot cheaper, but they store all the cord blood in St. Petersburg, FL. Not good when hurricane comes.
CBR's price is similar to Viacord. Both are around $2000 to start, and $125 a year afterwards. Coupon code M9999 saves you $250 when you enroll with CBR (www.cordblood.com)
Banking cord blood is a great thing, but it is very expensive. More people would have done it if were not for the cost.

We read up on it alot and asked our primary care doctor and OB-gyn and decided to bank with our pregnancy. Neither doctor had a monetary incentive to recommend any particular company. They mentioned public banking but the risk was that the cells would not be available for our family’s use or that our hospital wouldn't be able to support this. They recommended Cord Blood Registry or Viacord (both are good). But we decided to go with CBR because I found a discount coupon online for it. I used it when I enrolled online M1998 and got $250 Off the fees. Total came out to $1,900 (including the one-time registration, specimen shipment and first year storage). To us it was worth it. Also something people don't tell you is that you can earn back the cost of your fees by signing up to be part of their Moms Network (for free) and referring other moms. I earned back my fees in 5 months!

Cheyenne'e mum, sorry to hear that.. I hate it when companies keep calling back even if you're not interested. I try not to give out my cell if I can help it. There are a bunch of other companies that you can check out besides CBR and Viacord. This site Cord Blood FAQs has some good info on others like New England Cord Blood Bank, Lifebank USA and Cryo-cell. I was hoping to find some cord blood coupons, but I haven't had any luck yet.. Momo, where did you find yours?

There are so many codes out there, but we used MOOLA and saved $250 plus got a $50 gift card when emailing cbrmom@cox.net. We found this to the best deal available, but you have to sign up online at cordblood.com. We used CBR in the past and it was a wonderful experience with their great customer service and smooth process! Best of luck!

We went with CBR. There many codes out there that give you savings. I used the one in the blog http://cordbloodregistrydiscountcouponcode.blogspot.com/
M1998. You get $250 OFF, a $50 gift card and potentially can save an additional $400 if you prepay storage fee and get back the cost of your cord blood collection (rebate of $125). Worth researching. Many people don't tell you that you can actually earn back the cost of your banking by referring OTHERS!!!!

We chose to bank with CBR because a friend used them and was completely happy with their overall service and price. We were also 100% satisfied with CBR customer service and quality of the company. We used coupon code "M8899" for our enrollment and receive $250 discount plus $50 gift card by signing up online and emailing info@cbrsave.com to request gift card. Good luck!

My fiance' and I are expecting our first baby this November. We talked about cord blood banking for months prior to the pregnancy and how much we wanted to do it. We decided to bank with Cryo-Cell, which is much more reasonably priced.
I am now an advisor for Cryo-Cell and am trying to raise awareness for this once in a lifetime opportunity to store your baby's stem cells. If you are still considering banking the baby's cord blood, I recommend that you check out this link http://www.cryo-cell.com/current_offers/weekend_turn_back_time_063010.asp. It is a really great offer right now! If you want more information feel free to give me a call I would love to discuss it with you 813-749-2169.
