lilsoph!! I have a rebel too
I'm like a camera hog... I'm always behind it taking pictures. I took a TON of Chloe, especially during that 1st year. I hope, with two kids, that I'll have enough time and patience to take a lot of Dawson too.

Hey, have we talked about assignments and the details? Like how often we'll do one and yada yada?

So I wanted to share my most recent (besides the assignments) PS creation. In case some of you don't know, I run a Twilight fansite... well anywho, one of the actors in the movie (Rachelle Lefevre who plays Victoria) well its her birthday today. SO I made a lil banner type thing to post and tell her Happy Birthday from our News Blog. I really had fun with this one. I didn't do the normal things I always do, I actually played around and just tried to do different stuff. I was surprised with myself how creative I could be, lol. Well, here it is! Tell me what you think, please? I like constructive criticism. If you wanna know how I did anything too, just ask.
UUUugh.. okay so the picture isn't letting me post, but if you click the link below (clicking won't work cause as you can see the & isn't underlined with the link too, so you'll just need to copy and paste it in your browser), you can see the post on my website where you can see the pic.

Quoting Pinky*ILuvTinks( .Y. ):“ How do you guys do watermarks, lol. i just did this for watermarks on my pictures.... ETA: i want to know how to fade them so they don't ruin the picture so much.”

I read couple posts down that you use Gimp, which is what I use. You want to make the text an overlay.

1) Type the text you want to use as the watermark in a text layer.

2) Find the Layers, Paths, Undo window (should already be visible, but if not press CTRL + L and it will open).

3) With the text layer selected, locate where it says Mode in the Layers, Paths, Undo dialog.

Click the arrow to drop down the menu, and select Overlay from the list.

This will make your text an overlay layer. You can then add a drop shadow in a light color to make it slightly more visible, and also add a bevel if you choose.

Another way to make a watermark:
1) Type the text you'd like to use as a watermark.
2) Make sure the text layer is selected, and in the Layers, Paths, Undo dialogue move the opacity slider until the text is as light/dark as you'd like.

These are the easiest ways I know to make them. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

Oh, and I was going to ask you, how did you do the eyes in your assignment pic?

Lol.. Your pics are private.  But ya something like that.  I found a tutorial and started to do it.  Problem is I noticed the tutorials are using CS whatever number and I just have Photoshop Elements 7.  The tutorial that I found was this one:
http://www.photoshoproadmap.com/Photoshop-blog/2007/09/13/give-your-photos-a-retro-comic-book-effect/
And I cant figure out how to do the 4th one down which it says:
Select the HALFTONE layer and set a STROKE LAYER STYLE of WIDTH: 20pxPOSITION: Inside andCOLOR: #F5ECE1.
I can do the stroke layer style with the width of 20px but I cant figure out how to position it inside with that color.
