 it's basically a little plastic contraption that hooks to your pop up flash, it has a mirror on it that redirects the flash to the ceiling or wall (depending on how you angle the camera), and then the flash will re-bounce from the wall/ceiling around the room. Essentially it diffuses the light so you don't have a harsh headlight flashing your subject.

With the exception of my actual camera body, I've purchased every bit of my photo gear from Adorama. It's an actual store in NY, and they extremely well known and reliable. Their customer service is great too.

Another reputable retailer for photo equipment is B&H Photo.

 Ohhhh that explains why I got my LS so quickly!  They definitely have amazing prices too.
