where do you put the brushes,etc that you download in photoshop?

i have some .xmp files i want to get into my photoshop cs3.... how and where do I put them? And what does .xmp stand for, just for future reference?

Ladies! Check out the pic I made on photoshop! And the rest of the invitation was made on snapfish.... Can wait to get the invites mailed to me for my son's 1st bday! (Sorry it looks zoomed out.... I printed the screen on snapfish and even forgot to erase the surroundings on Paint)

This was my 1st creation on Photoshop besides black and white photos with a splash of color lol

My computer>C Drive>Program Files>Adobe>Photoshop>Presets then the correct folder, like brushes, Photoshop action, etc.

Okay so I just downloaded the free trial for Photoshop. I have been playing around, but am not sure what I am really doing. I was wondering how you ladies find all the cute graphics that you use for the siggies. I am just wondering if I am missing something. Also, how do I get my photos to look smoother, if that makes sense!!

stupid question again..lol and where do templates you download go? I'm not seeing a template folder  

nevermind i just deleted the program it wouldn't open the presets . i'm going to redownload it later.

You can find free digital embellishments all over the net. Try digifree blogspot. I dont remember the exact address, just google it and it will pop up.

Umm to smooth skin there are several ways. In PS, its not like a tool that does it, well...you could try the blur tool but...there isnt a "skin smoothing" tool, KWIM? , its more like techniques. Go to youtube and there are so many good tuts that show you how to do them. Then just find one that works best for you.
