My baby was born at 31 weeks and 4 days! pics as well..

Hi, my son who is now 2 in june was born quite early at 31 weeks and 4 days... he had tried to be born at 24 weeks, but docs actually stopped all labour yay..

It was very tough him being in nicu, i couldnt hold him, wash him bath him, nothing, i felt a failier..

He was in intensive care for 1 month before being allowed to come home..

he weighed 4lb 14oz's so a very good weight for that gestation...

here are the pics, 1st one is when he was 3 hours old, all tubes and wires, he was fighting for his life on this one..

here is at 2 weeks old, when all his tubes had come out, i was so amazed at all his hair, wow,

and this pic was taken 4 days before he was allowed home..

and now hes a cheeky monkey...

so there is hope ladies... as you can see hes grown into a lovely wee boy!  

It's very nive to see your son is doing so well! My daughter was born at 27 weeks and she is a perfectly healthy 4 yr old now!

I have a little girl who is now 16 months old and she was born at 31 weeks she weighted 3 lbs. 12 and a half onces! She was so small she had to be airlifted though as soon as she was born to dalla childrens mediacl center in dallas texas! This though we kinda knew was ganna happen i too had been in labor for a while i had first went into labor at 21 weeks! It was all because of stress though when i was pregnet with her she had to have 8 surgeries to keep her alive and then when she was born she had to have three more! So my whole pregnacy was stress full and then it felt like it was only worse when she was in the nicu for 2 months when she finally came home she weighed 4 lbs 13 oz she was still verry tiny it was hard though in the nicu see that i could only tough her through the two places to place your hands! It sucked i never thoght she was ganna come home! I was so worried about her that as soon as i had her and she was airlifted only her dad gototo go with her but that next morning which i wasnt even in the hospital for 24 hours since i had her i left and drove down there a 6 hour drive to stay with her! She is healthy now though she gets sick realy easy but even though she is a premie she right up there with all the other kids with her developments! I hope to hear more from you it is nice to hear from someone who was in the same situation!

wow, 4lb 4 at 31 weeks! I was only 5lb and I was born the day after my due date! I'm nearly 31 weeks along now and can't believe the little man inside me could be that big already. Glad to hear you had a happy ending - makes me realise I should probably get more organised for my maternity leave handover at work! Eek.
