I don't know if you saw but Ricky Lake recently did a documentary on this subject. The whole thing is for hospitals to make money. If you get the epidural they hope it slows labor plus they make more money. Than comes the potocin to speed up contractions which speeds up the babys heart rate which they immidetly go to c-section. They love surgery big bucks. They have a turn over rate they want you to have the baby as soon as possible and get u in and out and on to the next one. Also epidurals can cause you to become parailized from the waist down perminitly. Its scarey some girls are lucky and have no problems and others do. If you can watch this documentary there's alot of good info and they show u every way of giving birth. I'm going natural...

Loved my epi!! i had it at 3 1/2 i figured i was gonna get it anyways why wait and my baby came out perfect. The one thing that did happen was the nurse let me sleep for 5mins longer on one side than she shouldve (15mins on each side) and when it cam time to push i was useless because i couldnt feel anything. Luckily my boy did all the work and his head was already crowing when they called the dr!

I loved my epi as well. I got it as soon as I got to the hospital (I was 4cm already).

Only thing was it wore off when it was time to push so I felt the entire thing. Was a piece of cake compared to those contractions though!

I was in labor for 16 hours and prob only felt pain an hour at most.

I got the epi about half an hour after they broke my water because the damn contractions were right on top of each other. And the guy who did the epi missed my spin the first time, and the second time he got it but said that the needle bearly fit. yeah I have had back pain since I had her three weeks ago.
But I WILL get the epi next time around.
it help speed up my labor too.

I had a perfect epi with my daughter. I had some minor back pain right after but it went away a short time after. I have no regrets! She's absolutely perfect, and there were no side affects. And my labor was only 18 hours from absolute start to the time I pushed her out. It was painless and a wonderful experience. I don't see any reason for being in so much pain and not being able to enjoy the labor experience when there is that wonderful drug available.

Eh to each their own I suppose lol. I really enjoyed my natural labor, way more than when I had an epi and was stuck in bed. I don't think I even cried, I came close during transition but I don't know that I actually did lol
