Periods after DEPO

What are they like? Is it normal to stop and start?

I didnt get my periods back for over 8 months!! And then they were 3 weeks, 5 weeks, 9 weeks in between... and sometimes heavy, sometimes light...

I dunno how long it takes to regulate though, i was pregnant a few months later lol

My sister in law got this and she had a period for 6 months straight pretty much :| So she doesn't do it anymore. I guess it's diff. with everyone.

Yea I am at the point where Im getting it back after a few mishaps and its acting funny

6 mths?! Is that right after getting off of it or did that take time?

I have been on and off depo for years. My periods would be a lil longer for a few months. Sometimes heavier than normal. After 6 or so months I usually stopped getting a period altogether!
Everybody adjusts differently to the meds. There is a wide spectrum of what is ok.

i got mine back after a couple of months but they were irregular. i've read that it takes 12-18 months for it to get completly out of your system.

Its almost been a yr since my last shot

I spotted off and on for the first month and a half I was on it after the baby was born. I'm still on it and I haven't seen my period or any spotting now in about 4 months.

I was on Depo when I was younger too...It took quite some time for my body to get back into a routine. I think It took a few months for me to have a period, and two and a half years after not recieving the shot, I finally got pregnant.

I was on depo provera for 3 years. I finally got off of it because I was told there is a risk of loss of bone density after 3-5 years of use... I didn't see my period for over 8 months!! When I finally did start, I bled heavy for 10 days straight. Stopped bleeding for a week. Bled incredibly heavy for another week. This went on for about 3 1/2 months until I became anemic and couldn't stand it anymore. I finally got back on the pill to level things out.

I was told by the nurse practitioner at Planned Parenthood that all of that was totally normal...

Yea no its not
