In memory of
Sgt Dennis James Flanagan
May 8, 1983-January 20, 2006
At the young age of 22, my friend Dennis was deployed to Iraq with the Army for the third time. He wasn't even suppose to go. Dennis was suppose to stay stateside & go to school, but he insisted he had to go with his men & wouldn't feel comfortable being home while they were out fighting. I didn't beg him or anything, but I told him that I would feel much better if he would just stay & continue toward what his future held.
Dennis was an amazing guy. He was the best of friends--a great listener &so knowledgeable & insightful when he gave advice. He was so intellegent & had a huge future in front of him. After 9/11, he changed all his plans to serve his country. On his third deployment, he was killed by an IED on the roadside of Al Huwijah, Iraq.Dennis gave it all...the ultimate sacrifice.
I miss him.

I'm so sorry for your loss. He sounds like a wonderful man, and I appreciate that he was serving our country.

Now I realize he was just a baby...but he was such an amazing MAN at 22. He was so intellegent & just mature. Definitely worth being remembered!

Thank you everyone....I just feel very sad today. I'm just glad I had the honor of knowing him.
