32 weeks and 3 days!!!!!!!! My premie's story. Share your

Just wanted to brag a little. Connor Kenneth Charles was born December 27, 2008 at 32 weeks and 3 days. My water broke suddenly at 3 am christmas morning, at first I thought I peed my pants!!! I of course went up to the hospital and they admitted me. They were hoping that he would stay in there until 34 weeks. They gave me two injections of steroids tohelp mature his lungs and kept me on bedrest. Two days later Connor ran into some problems.SomehowConnor ended up turning himself breech, andbecause I had very little amniotic fluid his weight ended up compressing the cord and he dropped his heart rate into the 50's. The docs had to perform anemergent c-section. I of course was a blubbering mess! We both made it through great though, and even though Connor was a premie, he scored 9/10 on his APGARS!!! He currently resisdes in the Grand River Hospital NICU, but is doing better everyday. He gave us a little scare two days ago. He developed a blood sepsis from all of his frequent IV starts. The medical staff caught it quick though and after 48 hrs of antibiotics and 24 hrs on the ventilator togive his lungs a rest, hehas made an almost complete turn around. He is back to hisextremely cute self!! and Myself and my fiance can sleep a bit better tonight!!
Before I was pregnant I could never imagine loving someone this much, but this little boy has completely taken me over, and I wouldnt give that up for the world!! Its the best feeling ever!How lucky we are to be parents!!!

Well, congratulations! Im glad he is doing so well and I hope he continues to do so!

I was about 34 weeks, 6 days. Long story short, my ex was abusive and I ended up in labor. I started labor about 8 am, and my water broke at 6 pm. I finally was able to get to the phone and call 911 at about midnight (I wasn't allowed to go to the hospital, he didn't believe I was in labor).

After 40 minutes (20 were just waiting on the doctor) and 4 pushes, my son was born. He was 17" long and 4 lbs 7 oz. He was life-flighted to a bigger hospital's NICU 2 hours away because our hospital didn't have the equipment to care for him. I did get to see him about 1 hour after he was born and I held him for awhile. As luck would have it, he was breathing with minimal difficulty. He had problems sucking bottles at first, and I was pumping for him. He got it eventually and got to come home at 10 days old. I was SO lucky that he hasn't had more problems. He was delayed for about the 1st year, and small. Still is small, but is caught up to his peers mentally/physically and very healthy now.   We worked with him a lot when he was a baby/toddler.

Oh, I kicked his donor to the curb that night, testified against him, and helped put him in prison for 13 years.

i had my son at 28 weeks and 3 days, i was put in the hospital on bedrest at 23 weeks due to a Molar pregnancy.. at my 20 week U/S my OB noticed that something was wrong and sent me to Baylor to see another dr there, well they found out what it was after doing an Amino. they tried to get me to terminate my pregnancy due to the risk of my bleeding, but see that i had a healthy son i didn't want to.. so my finacee's aunt made a couple of calls and found us a dr that would take care of me for the rest of my pregnancy, he put me in the hosptial the next day after i saw him.. i got my first round of storiod shots at 24 weeks and my last round of shots at 26 weeks.. i started having contractions at 25 weeks but my son wanted to stay in just a little bit longer.. at 28 weeks and 3 days, my dr did an ultrasound to check on the baby and when i went back into my room about an hour later my nurse told me to call my faincee and my mother and tell them that they was going to go ahead and do my c-section.. my son was born at 427 pm on sept. 19th, he weighed 2 lbs 1 oz, he spent a little over 2 months in the NICU and came home the day before thanksgiving weighing 5 lbs 9 oz..
the people at baylor told me that if my son was born alive that he might not live but a couple of days, sometimes i just want to go up there and take my son with me and show them that he is here and healthy.. my son has brought me and his father closer together.. i never knew how much i could love someone until he was born.. my little Eli is my enitre life..

Congrats on your little guy! That's wonderful that you were able to get the steroid shots! I'm about 2 stories too long so I'll just say that both of my kids are little water breakers like your Connor! They were born at 28 and 30 weeks, now 3 and 1!

So glad that you got out of that situation. For you and your babies. I couldnt imagine having them wanting to take my baby to another hospital!! I think I would have a breakdown!

That is a great story! You definitly went through alot.Im glad that youcarried through despite what the docs said. You must have been scared. Glad to hear that its brought you and your fiance closer. I think that has happened for us too. We have had to pull in even closer to support our little guy.
Thanksgiving must have been the best that year!

That is great that your baby is doing well. At least you made it to a good gestational age and you got the steroid shots.

I got pregnant with my daughter in October and about a week before I found out about her, I found that I had a pretty bad hernia right above my belly button. My OB said we will keep an eye on it, but they almost never create any problems with pregnancy. Well, as my luck would have it, the sixth month started to get very painful as my growing baby started to push it out more. At 29 weeks, I suddenly was not able to eat anything and my hernia was unbearable. My OB had me come to his office and form there, he admitted me. The hernia became incarcerated and I had a bowel obstruction. Even water was making me vomit. They planned on attempting the hernia repair and leaving her in, but on the fifth day of being there, Angelina had enough. I started to contract and dialate very fast. My intestines were ready to rupture as well, and my OB had me go down for an emergency c-section, he was afraid I was going to die.

Angelina Catherine was born on May 17 weighing 3 pounds 7 ounces, 16 inches long. She had some rough bumps, bad reaction to fortifier, NEC, poor digestion, lots of bradys, but after 46 days, she got to come home.

Now, at almost 8 months old, she weighs 14 pounds, is 26 inches long, and is smart and HEALTHY. She right now is battling RSV, but aside from her small size, she has no reprocussions from her being born at 30 weeks.
