Indiana Moms - Immunizations @ Health Dept Question

Do I have to take my daughter to the health dept of the county I live in or can I go to the next county over? I've scoured the net and can't find anything.

Our insurance plan changed and immunizations are no longer covered at the pedi's office   I went to our local health dept to pick up her birth certificate and it was icky, nasty, dirty. I really don't want to take her there if I don't have to. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience going to another county to have them done. Thanks!

I live in a completely different city ten what I used to. I am taking my girl to shots at the health department here. I just moved here btw. Just call them and find out when and how much

Thanks. I guess I'll just call and find out. The worst they can do is tell me no, right?

You can take her anywhere in the state! And they cost just a $5 donation. You bringing her to Valpo? The nurses there are awesome, it's totally clean, and it's never busy! That's where we take Max.

*sigh* what good news. I just can't bring myself to take her to the Lake County Health Dept...it's gross! I was planning on going to Portage since that's right by our house, but maybe we could go to Valpo since they come so highly recommended ;)

I've never been to the Portage one, so I can't tell you if it's nice or not. But it has to be better than the Lake Co one.

There wasn't even a ceiling the last time I was there (Lake Co) Yeah, it's been a year, but all those kids sitting in the hallway with no ceiling....*shudders* I didn't even want to walk in to get her birth certificate! I guess I'm just a Health Dept snob   I just want the place to "feel" clean when I go in for something like that.
