Supermarket refuses to Write childs name on cake ...

posted 22nd Dec '08
Thoughts?
A father who named his son Adolf Hitler Campbell is upset that a cake shop has refused to ice “happy birthday Adolf Hitler” on the little boy’s cake.

“Other kids get their cake. I get a hard time,” he said. “It’s not fair to my children.’

It’s certainly not fair on the poor boy that he has parents that would make the average Jerry Springer married couple look like European nobility. New Jersey couple Heath and Deborah Campbell, 35, also have a daughter named JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell.
Mr Campbell, who has swastikas decorating the family home and believes he is related to a former member of the SS, agrees that the Nazi’s were not a highly charitable bunch: “Yeah, they (Nazis) were bad people back then. But my kids are little. They’re not going to grow up like that.”
I’ve got my head in my hands. I’m trying to respond to this, but what’s the point?

Personally I think the parents are a little touched in the head ...

poor kids.... Even if they do grow up to be good, non-prejudice people, they will still be plauged by those god awful names. Maybe they will legally change them.

Regardless of the child's name, he deserves a cake too. Yes, the parents chose a dumb name, but it's their choice.
If he wants the kid's name on it that bad, he can do it himself.

Some parents really screw up their kids by giving them so crappy names! My mother worked at a school where one child was named "Master of the World" and another child was named "Your Lord and Savior".......seriously SCREWED UP names! How do you ever expect your child to live a normal life???

I'd say the parents are a couple of fruitcakes, and if I was the baker at the supermarket, I'd refuse to write the child's name, too.

And shame on them for naming their child that! What an offensive name, not just for the child, but for almost everyone around him!

That's a good point...the child shouldn't suffer b/c the parent's are morons (although sadly, I'm sure he is).

i think they knew exactly what they were doing and the kind of attention they were going to get when they named their kids those names...i feel bad for the poor kid that has to grow up with that name, kids are cruel...i think they crave attention and named him that just because they could

I laughed really hard when I read this. Whew.

Poor kids. What aweful names to be stuck with for life. I am sure the kids at school will torture the shit out of them.

but why should the CHILD suffer? its just a cake! its not the childs fault, if anything his or her whatever parents should get beat up for naming their child that, but its not fair to the child for the bakery to refuse writing the childs name on a stupid cake.

i think they had said they just happen to like the names they chose for their children and that it had nothing to do with the nazis or whatever but i beg to differ

Hons Lynn Hiller - Hons Lynn Hiller/Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbel who will be 1 in April is in the news after her brother Adolf Hitler Campbell 3, was denied a birthday cake today.
Hons Lynn Hiller/Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbel was named after Heinrich Luitpold Himmler a Nazi German politician who was the leader of the Schutzstaffel also called SS under Adolf Hitler.
Heinrich Luitpold Himmler played a great part in the Holocaust constantly pushing for the breed a master race of Nordic Aryans.
That’s all we have for now on
Hons Lynn Hiller.

It's not like everyone's going to call him Adolf Hitler. There just going to call him Adolf. Adolf is still a name, I don't think they should have denied him his name on a cake.

It was something after Himmler.

I'm going out there on a limb, but I am 1/2 German from a family who was high up in the Nazi Party.
Does that mean I am going to "honor" the misdeeds of my recent ancestors by giving my child a ridiculous name? OH HELL NO! My daughter carries on a family name, from that side, but it is not that generation.
Do I hide from the fact my family is from Germany during the timeframe? No. Am I embarassed? No, because there is nothing I personally could have done (my mother and Iwere born in 1943 and 1974).

I really believe these people don't understand, fully, the extent of the pain that they will cause their children and the fact that they will be ostercized by society because of the parent's lame choices. There are many families that are hurt personally by the actions of the Germans during that generation, and to the extent that I can - I apologize. It is unfair to these children to burden with these names that carry the stigma that they do.

And the fact that the father "believes he is related to a former member of the SS" and does this without real knowledge is more of an embarassment to both his children and himself.
