My daughter's name is Zoe and apparently there are tons of variations...it's a little irritating but I just kindly remind people that should know the correct way it is spelled.

On a side note my paternal grandparents STILL spell my Mom's name wrong (Angie instead of Angi)....and I go by Nikki a lot, and everybody in my husbands family either spells it Nicky...or in the case of one grandmother spells it MICKEY. hm....

If we have a girl her name will be Zoey. We considered Zoë, cause that's how it's generally spelled here, but I don't want my kid having an umlaut in her name. Just keep it simple. (She'll be lucking out that her last name will be Habeck and not something crazy like Baumgaertner) Same with Zoé, no accents. We even played around with Zoie but decided that it looked too weird.

And Dejah, definitely correct people when they spell Connor's name wrong. It's his identity. He's not CONNER, (or COONER  )he's CONNOR. And if someone doesn't like being corrected...they'll get over it.

Sorry I misunderstood a little. So no, it's not rude at all. Just keep reminding them and hopefully sooner or later it will sink in lol

LOL I know it is supposed to have Oomlots (no idea how to spell that) but I just left them off because nobody in America (at least not in Arizona) pays attention to them anyway. My middle name is Noel (with the oomlots) and everybody usually says it right. :/ A lot of my husbands family spelled Zoe "zoey" at first especially because he has a brother named Joey....but anyway I'm babbeling sorry...we just liked Zoe better, it just seemed right, as does any spelling to any parent who chooses how to spell their kids name lol

I don't think its rude at all! If they spell it wrong once and you dont correct them, they will keep spelling it wrong! It's your kids name! I will be correcting my babies name if people mis-spell it!

Nope, not rude at all!! Garyson gets Garrison ALL the time and I ALWAYS correct people.

He also gets called Grayson and I don't get mad at that mainly because I got an email a long time ago with the words spelled with the right letters, but the letterswere somewhat scrambled in each word, butI could still read it because our brains only need to see a few letters to understand the word. Does that make sense? If I find the email, I will post it.

Anyway, Grayson is so common that when people see Garyson their brains interpret it as Grayson. I just politely tell them it's Garyson. They usually feel dumb. LOL.

And we are wanting Ephraim for this one. I can only imagine the amount of mispronunciations and misspellings we are going to have to deal with on that name. Let's see...Efram, Ephram, Ephrum, Efrum, and being pronounced Ef-ray-m (like rain only raim) instead of Efrum. Grrrreat!!
