Crappy day at work...(vent)

Aargh...! I am so sick of people telling me that I shouldn't have children because Im only a 'child'.. Today at work one of the midwives that works at the hospital I will be having bub in decided to rant on about me being pregnant again and how I should be put on the pill, children shouldn't have babies and how that Im a drain on the system bla, bla, bla... to about 15other customers at the service desk!!! What a BITCH!! Im sorry but what exactly would class someone as being 'worthy' of having children in her book if being in my mid 20s, having been married for 4years, owning two houses, two damn cars &both of us having stable jobs doesn't work for her!! Man! Im better off than my parents are already and they have raised 5kids and are in their 50s!!!

Im so annoyed by her, I really hope she isn't on when I have this baby, i would hate for one of the first things he sees when he comes into this world to be her dumb ugly mug!!

She's a bitch that needs to keep her opinion to herself. IMO  

You are doing a great job with your life. People are going to talk no matter what you do. I didn't jump immediately into having children. I pursued my relationship with my husband and my education first. My family gave me such a hard time about that a few years ago that I nearly broke when I did in fact have a miscarriage. I felt like a failure because I let other people's opinion guide me. Normally I would've been fine with just "living life". I said all that to say. Here I am 4 years later and I know that they were jealous and my freedom and success and they tried to displace their insecurities on me. I wonder what the midwife is struggling with internally? I mean does it say anywhere in your charts that you are "straining the system" as she puts it?

Where do you work? It's none of her business, tell her to shut her mouth! That isn't very professional.

I think the whole 'straining the system' thing was about the baby bonus we get... I think its up to $5000 now, not like we need it but its to encourage women to stay home for a little longer with their babies before going back to work...and just to encourage us to contribute more to the population as our birth rates have been pretty low for quite a while here...too many pensioners for us to support with an aging population.

And i work at our local Target LOL... Its not great but its stable and helps pay the bills...We live in a very small town and I am friendly with ALOT of the ppl that were there today when she was carrying on...

It sounds like the system wants you to be fruitful and multiply. Does she have any children that you know of? That may be her issue or she is TTC so she can get the 5K.
