Praying for the Neary family

December 10th destroyed the heart of Juneau with one bullet.

Aidan Neary, a boy barely 15 was accidentally shot by a friend yesterday afternoon along with Chase Schneider. Aidan was struck threw the chest with a revolver. The bullet that hit Aidan went threw his chest into Chase who was struck in the side. Aidan fought for 3 long, painful hours and passed away at 7 o'clock last night with his family, friends, and the angels that were to take him to heaven by his side.

Chase, has been paralyzed from the waist down and is scheduled for surgery 6 in the morning today. [Please pray for him and his family as well]

Although 14 and 15 year olds should know better then to mess with guns this was a complete accident and from what I've heard the boy that did this is going to get into some extent of trouble, how much, I wish I knew...

Aidan knew how to light up a room. With his sweet and loving personality and great sense of humor there was never a dull moment with this kid. Which is why everyone is asking themselves "why him?" Its crazy to think that people just earlier yesterday were talking and joking with him...and now he is gone forever.

I couldn't even imagine what the three families are going threw considering that this is hitting everyone in Juneau and beyond so hard. He was truly one of a kind, and will be missed greatly.

The reason I posted this was just to let other parents know to talk to their kids aboutgun safty,even though I haven't heard of this happening often...it still happens. Guns are serious business and should be taken that way.

Rest In Peace Aidan...  

Such a tradegy, I will keep the family in my prayers. May God grant them strength in this dark hour.

Yes RIP Aiden and I will be praying for Corey. Thanks for the post I will keep all of these things in mind as I raise my little ones (not here yet but coming soon)

The part that REALLY gets me is that at school they did a suicide class which is where I think they got the idea to mess with the guns in the first place.

This year at the highschool we have lost 4 students due to suicide
1 to accidental murder
and 1 to drug overdose.

This is the JDHS record and its heartbreaking because I grew up with every single person that passed away.

Totally sucks. This year isn't even over...So I'm so scared as to whats going to happen next

Wow it sounds like you guys need some serious prayer.

OMGOSH! I've been trying to say that sense I've gone to that school. I'm homeschooled now so I don't get so much of the "dirt" as I used to.

But last year there were kids doing meth in the stalls in the locker rooms and stuff. Some teachers had "suspisions" but never checked on it. They just dont care at all...

The only teachers that did care were in group type of things where they have a smaller learning enviorment so they can focus on just the student and thier school work [which I was in Freshman and Sophmore year] And they considered us and treated us like family, and all the kids that were messing up their lives before the "group" totally changed their outlook and wanted better.

I just wish the entire school district would see that and put a little bit more towards the kids then what they are paid to do.

But like that will ever happen.

I am so sorry. It's amazing the resources that this country will use on weapons but look at the educational system. I know that money doesn't change everything but clearly your highschool needs more staff and intervention programs. That does cost money.
I have NO plans on sending my child to public school and I know that sounds awful. There is no protection, no God, and no one that is willing to fight for these kids. I am sorry again that you had to be exposed to things in high school that you probably wouldn't run into in your home. It's a good thing that you are homeschooled.

Sad enough but the middle schools are worst. But we live in such a small "city"that we will take what we can get...

No matter the size of your city you deserve to have a good and safe public education. This is upsetting because your guys are our future. I thought society was supposed to protect children....

hi Ethan's mom, Have you learned any more info about Chase? I asked my husband what he has heard, and he said Chase is now moving his toes.

I am praying for all the families, Michauds, Nearys and Schnieders.

I hope one day Aidens family will be OK with what happened. I currently have one child in Thundermountain High School; and one kid following soon. I think that the school lacks a lot of things.... And I plan to change that real soon
