Castor oil

I don't know if anyone ever had this done to them but I was given 2 ounces of castor oil today to get me to go into labor. Didn't work of course, just gave me the runs. Does anyone know how long the side effects last? I really wanna know when my bowels are gonna go back to normal and not have the runs anymore. Sorry if this is too much information.

Thats just not right!
Hopefully you're ok by tomorrow or so.....just drink plenty of fluids from what I've heard.

It's gonna take about 3-4 hours to run it's course. I did that with my last pregnancy and I realized soon after what a big mistake that was.

well, they gave me the 2 ounces around 10:30 this morning and it's still affecting me.. and its now 8:15 pm here...

I agree with earlier post who gave it to you? Most doctors won't bc of the sideeffects and that if you aren't ready ready it won't do a dang thing.

It should have passed out of your system by now. Are you sure that your not sick on top of it all. If your not doing better soon then I would head in to the hospital. You hve to be careful not to become dehydrated.

Nay wouldn't drink the castor oil. A lot of people wouldn't. Maybe that's why she's laughing.

Are you over due or something? Is that why they gave it to you?
Really if it was given to you by your doctor that just isn't right! I don't know of a doctor who would do that, it could really dehydrate the mother.
