dilating

when do women usually start dilating.. ?

I know every woman is different.. but are most already started dilating a couple of weeks before their due date?

do some women not dilate? even at their due date?

I am 38 weeks and one day, I had my cervix checked on Monday and nothing..

i dunno im due on the 15th not dialated but the baby is in position...the doc felt her head yesterday and said i might not last anohter week...but im still skeptical

I am 37 weeks and nothing I was supossed to get checked today but my car has given out.

It varies between women to women. I didn't dialate until 38 weeks.

Im a little over 37 weeks and nothing. My cervix is still closed as of Monday.

With my son after my water broke.

I was checked Monday. I was 35 weeks and 3 days. I have dialated 2.5 cm.

I'm at 1cm and I'm almost 32 weeks. I wasn't told that I'm in PTL. Also, I have a friend who never dialated ever after her due date and had to be induced. Her body didn't produce pitocin so she would have never dialated.. everyone is different though.

I was 39.4 weeks and 0 dilated!!! I was induced that day  

I was 2 cm at 36 weeks and 4 cm at 40 weeks when I was induced.

I'm 33 weeks and at last appt was 1 cent dilated! It all depends on if you have productive contractions that open your cervix. Some women it takes until the very last minute for things to open open.

well I'm only 35 weeks.. but.. I was checked last week because I was having contractions.. but they said I wasn't dilated and that she was really low.. and.. after they checked me.. I had some bleeding.. I didn't know if that could cause me to start dilating since I wasn't already.
I've still got 4 weeks.. and 5 days.. so I'll be fine..
but.. lol I'm just wondering

Mu doctor kept telling me every week from 36 weeks on that I would never make it one more week I was induced at 40 weeks.

YAY! It makes me feel better with all the 37-38 weeks pregnant women that are not dilated either....I'm 50% effaced and praying I don't go overdue so my poor little guy doesn't share his birthday with Christmas.
