STD

As in short term disability...i have been trying to figure everything out about my maternity leave and the STD confuses me the more i try to look it up. Is it an insurance or what??? I live in New Jersey so it is offerered for maternity leave. Has anyone gone through this process???

I live in Maryland and the way it works here is you get your first 2 weeks pay from any PTO you have and then your STD kicks in the 3rd week and you get 60% of your pay.

do u have to apply for it or do u automatically get it?

It's an automatic benefit. At my job I have to pay for long term disability.
