A modest proposal to halt welfare abuse

So, the subject of women having children on/for welfare has come up numerous times on this forum.

People complain frequently about having to pay to support others who just keep popping out children.

So, I think a viable solution to this problem is mandatory abortion for anyone who is pregnant and on welfare.

It will save a lot of money in taxes since less welfare will be paid out to these families, which would in turn help the ailing economy, and it will also help put a halt to generational welfare abuse since these families won't be producing children. The only ones who lose out are the aborted children, but since it's likely they'd just come out welfare abusers themselves, who cares, right?

Good Lord (lol), what brought that on? I haven't seen as many of those threads since the election; have I just been missing out?

This is a joke, right?

I'm not defending people who abuse welfare because that's just wrong.

But, please, just tell me you're not being serious.

wow.... what an opinion.. lol

What about those who are on welfare for the right reasons, and who are doing things to prevent pregnancy, and they still end up pregnant???

Why not have more assistance for those people to find jobs? And why not having employers be required to have information on affordable health care?

Or how about mandatory tubal ligations for anyone on welfare. They can't afford one kid obviously, they don't need more.

A thread about abortion that I'm also posting in. It wasn't about welfare, though the subject came up.

In the state of California, once you go on cash aid (TANF) they make you sign a waiver stating that even if you have 10 more kids, not one of them will get a cent of aid. I guess that prevents anyone from breeding just to up thier checks. I know there were many women that would do that, my MIL being one of them that did. Now, all those children would get are Medi-Cal and (I think) foodstamps.

Hmmm, I think I'm with you on this one.

So people currently on welfare who get pregnant would have to end the pregnancy. What about people who get pregnant and want to use these programs ie WIC, Medicaid? Would we just eliminate those programs for them all together?

I think it's a viable solution to the problem. Not a nice one, but a viable one.

Haha I wonder where this came from.

So I didn't get food stamps until after my son was born. Should I keep going until I can get my family out of this debt or should I hunt around for a 5th trimester abortion?

There are no right reasons, everyone on welfare is scum. Pure scum.

In fact, they should do away with welfare entirely.

That would work for people who aren't already pregnant when they apply.
