I just started getting these about a week ago...I also would like to know WTF they are!! I've never had cramps like these!! Could it be from lack of using my muscles lately.....

I get those when I point my toes when i stretch. . . I have to pull my toes back and stretch from my heel and it hurts soo bad!!! If i dont pull my toes back it keeps going on forever. I was also told its a lack of calcium and potassium but its just another thing of pregnancy, I used to get them so bad with my first I was scared to go to bed and stretch in the morning

YES!! Usually when I wake up in the morning, and then I'm sore for several days after. Stretching my calves before I go to bed (or do a lot of walking around) helps a little. Otherwise.. good luck!

Point your toes towards your nose...it'll stretch the muscle and help it to stop tightening.

To help prevent a lot of people talk about potassium and calcium, but I did some research and they can't really prove any of it...but have found some links to magnesium. So I took a calcium/magnesium supplement. I also talked to my doctor about it, and he said it was from wearing shoes without enough support..and to wear shoes as much as possible.

You think the calf is bad - try getting them in your toes! The muscles tightened up so much my toes looked broken and mangled. I damn near died the first time, and afterwards hubby told me if my toe cramps were that bad, he'll never make it through labor with me. He did just fine during labor.

And it's like your foot gets "stuck" in the pointed position, and it's so hard to pull it back!!! It usually happens to me in the middle of the night....

I learned how to stretch my toes the right way after them freaking out for about 15 minutes and me curled up on the floor crying. You're right, they don't go away until you stretch them right.
