Sensitive any1???

posted 15th Oct '06
Hi All,

I found out just last week that i am 'sensitive' to dairy products because of the pregnancy, which means instead of puking in the toilet this time, i'm actually sitting on it all day n night, i don't know which one is worse!

But i luurrrvve cheese, i can't help it, its all i crave for at the moment, my hubby has threatned me, he says to quit cheese, cos if i don't, he will put a bookshelf n a magazine rack in the toilet cos i spend all my time in there..lol i've been clean for nearly a week now but i can't stop thinking about cheese, i could really murder a 'babybel' right about now i can tell ya! Am i the only one that has developed sensitivity to certain foods or are there other mums out there, that have or had the same problem as me???

Also i must confess about another naughty craving i have, please don't have a go girlies, but i just love the smell of freshly-stubbed out ciggerettes, aswell as the ash? i don't know what it is but i just love the smell of it, *begins to sniff ashtray next to the PC* i even rip open the stubs, so i can smell the remainder of the tabacco....mmmmm

Yeah I'm now sensitive to dairy.. And sitting on the toilet has become a regular occurrence for me too. I try really hard not to eat dairy but I can't help it! Then I whine because it makes my tummy hurt with all the gas pains and such.. But the worst part of all is when I go for sympathy from my husband he tells me he doesn't feel sorry for me! And that I did it to myself! Mean right?! LOL. Anyways I quit smoking when I was like 9 weeks pregnant but my husband still smokes.. Only outside but I can still smell it on him, and I really really like it...It's kinda weird. So anyways you're not alone!

Hi Ashley,

Yes hunni, thats right he is a meanie..bless! lol men eh???....atlast i'm not alone...well u have my sympathy hunni, i understand, it sucks cos i'm trying really hard at mo, but i know i'll sabotage myself eventually. I've even got a thing about body odour, from smelly people to aftershave or perfume, it just reeks n u wanna puke don't u? I try not 2 get too close to people in public now, cos i really thought this would pass after the 1st tri, like in my last pregnancy but oh no not this time! n i feel bad esp on buses cos i just wanna find another seat but u don't wanna offend people, so i just walk everywhere or take the car more often now cos i can't stand it..lol Just looked at ur ticker hunni, are u due in jan too??? i'm due on the 18th ur not far behind me are u???

I'm due January 24th, but she'll be here sooner then that. I'm having a repeat c-section somewhere around the 36 week mark. I have an apointment on Thursday to find out the day and time that she'll be born. Kinda takes the whole surprise out of it huh? LOL. That's alright it'll be easier to plan that way.

I totally agree with you on the whole smelly person thing.. It's NASTY! The smell of body odor or even like stale alchohol seriously makes me want to throw up!

Lol, in a way yes it does take away some of the surprise but atleast ur due date comes with certainty, u are mos def having that baby on that day!
They said i might need c-section too, cos at my last scan my placenta was low n when i go back in Dec, they will asess how low before they consider giving me one, i dont wnt a c section, cos i wna be up n runnin doing the skool run, atleast week after the delivery, as hubby can't get that much time off, so fingers crossed placenta has moved by then eh?

I'm in the same boat as you for the whole placenta thing. I have complete previa (completely covering the cervix). Thats the biggest reason why I'm having a c-section. They really aren't that much fun.. But on the other hand i also watched my best friend give birth.. and that really wasn't that pretty LOL. My husband isn't taking that much time off either.. Not not because we can't afford it... That would be a good reason.. But no he's a work-a-holic.. So he can't stand to be away for more then a few days at a time.. Anyways if you'd like you can email me sometime, my email address is ashlouden@yahoo.ca.

Cheers,
Ashley
