I was just told too finally that I have PCOS. I don't have cysts on my ovaries but I do have multiple follicles which they say is normal since I am now in the process of ovulating. My cycles are pretty normal in range. They range from 30 to 35 day cycles. I'm on CD 25 right now and I'm about to ovulate hopefully. My opks are positive and i'm having right sided pain. I'm not on any medication but I will be going see an infertility specialist to find out why we haven't gotten preggo yet. It's been a year and a month which isn't too long but long enough. Maybe it just isn't time who knows.

Well here we go again we are going in to see a doctor about fert meds and I have to say I am super excited Jesse is going to be a year in a few weeks and I cant believe that we are ready to add another.With that said I am so anxious about the process.

I was dxed with PCOS 2 years ago after TTC for over a year. I have tried many things. Clomid didn't work, not with a normal or double dose. The only time my cycles have every been regular is when I was on birth control. We finally got pregnant in 2011 with the use of FSH and HCG injections however I miscarried the twins at week 5. After seeing this newest Fertility Specialist we are going to go the IVF route and hope that it works, because if it doesn't I am not going through all this crap again. The amount of medications is ridiculous. The dr currently has me on 2000mg of metformin, 1 month BC cycle, dexamethazone, and prenatal vitamins every day just to get ready to start taking 6 other fertility meds, have an egg retrieval and then a month later do a frozen egg transfer. We will adopt if this time doesn't work. Emotionally and hormone wise, I can't handle going through this for another time.

I'm starting the process of the whole blood testing thing. I went for my std testing day before yesterday. On CD 21 I have my progesterone. I started on vitex on the 11th ovulated the 14th. I got AF 11 days after I ovulated!! I've had wacky periods since my miscarriage in Dec. 2011. I'd have about 4 cycles where I'd ovulate and see AF on time then go about 3 cycles where I wouldn't ovulate and have a period like 10 to 13 days late. This is my first cycle on vitex. Hoping I won't have to do many more cycles on it. Hoping to have BFP soon. Hubby is on the lower end of normal with his sperm count. Repeating that test on Tuesday.

My husband and I have been TTC for just over 3 years. We are finally trying the IVF route because of the severity of my PCOS. I have been taking god knows how many different meds to make this happen. I am scheduled to have my egg retrieval on Sunday morning. I found out yesterday night, quite by accident, when I got home from work... let me preface this by saying that yesterday was my anniversary..... my husband has been having an affair for the last month. And I don't mean just having sex, i mean a side relationship where he was telling her he loved her and couldn't wait to see her, and talking all kinds of trash about me to her. Anyway, I just needed to vent my frustration.

OMG! Oh gosh I'm so sorry you had to find this out! I really know how you are feeling because my ex husband did the same thing. And it wasn't just with one woman that's the sad part. Did you talk to him about it? Are you still going to go through with the IVF? I know if I were in your situation I definitely wouldn't cuz I had two children for men who are worthless I wouldn't have a third if I could help it. My son is for my ex husband. I wish you luck hun and I hope you can find out answers as to why the hell would he do something like this. How severe is your PCOS? I have it too and we've been trying a year and 4 months now.

Oh honey I am so sorry

I am going ahead with the egg retrieval because I did not go through al this pain and daily injections and extra meds to not do it. But the Dr is only going to fertilize half the eggs and freeze the embyos/eggs until I decide that I want to do the transfer. Since it was a frozen cycle anyway we weren't doing the transfer for at least a month. Now it will be longer. This way, IF we work things out I have the embryos and if we don't I have eggs that I can use with a future person without having to go through the entire process all over again.

Sounds like you have a plan. Do you think that you would want to just go ahead and do it anyway if yall don't work out. I mean you went through all that already. My cousin says she wants a baby and she is about to attempt to get pregnant by her so called bf who contantly cheats on her and does not have a job, a criminal record, and does nothing productive for himself. But yet she says she don't care as long as she has a baby. I think she's wack. But I can understand her frustration. I hope things work out for you hun.

just a quick post. I have PCOS and am currently 4 weeks 6 days pregnant!
I was taking vitex and evening primrose oil, cut out alcohol and lost about 35lbs.
I then got a bit lazy with my healthy lifestyle for only a few weeks due to the stress of doing my dissertation, and boom, conceived!

I used to have regular periods every month but I don't think I ovulated because it was only when I started vitex that I got ovulation signs, I used to just get a period, no symptoms or anything else.

Gotcha. This is my second (first full cycle) on vitex. I've noticed a difference already. It made me ovulate after being on it 3 days. I took it 3 times a day. Morning, mid afternoon, and right before bed. Now I just take 2 before bed. Before I'd get ovulation pains when I'd ovulate but I'd go months without ovulating due to PCOS. But this is the second month and I've ovulated again this month so hopefully it keeps going. I have to order me some more though. I'm almost out. Don't want to to run out and not have any for a few days. Don't need to be messed up again.

There is hope for women with PCOS. I also have PCOS and Endometriosis. I have already had my left ovary and tube removed, along with other surgeries to wipe the scar tissue. I was told I wouldn't have kids due to that and I have a very messed up back and chronic pain. I am now a little over 13 weeks, and that in its self is a miracle. Don't give up if you have it. It is definitely possible.
