Did metformin help any of y'all lose weight? I have my doctor putting me back on it along with doing Provera for one cycle (that is all it took to get it started last time) to get my periods started again. She said that the Metformin will aid me in getting off the weight I have been trying to get off for awhile. Our goal is to get me healthy before having another baby.

I dont know, but now I can throw medicine names around when I go in for treatment. Lol I'm not sure if my PCOS is already a little "less there", since when I lived in Chicago for a few months I was walking everywhere and lost quite a bit of weight and I'm eating a lot healthier, because my periods have been normalish for about a year now

I was on follistim when i got pregnant with lil man! he'll be coming in 2wks or less!

Well after all the crap about me having or not having PCOS I find out from a nurse at the ER where I got my surgery done Aug. 2012 that the doc who did my surgery says I have it. When I went for my follow up after my surgery I asked her about it and she told me herself that from my hormone testing she did before my surgery to me not having issues with my periods like saying she doesn't see how I have it when another doctor said I did. I had a 5.6cm cyst on my right ovary and they removed that. I went through the ER with lower back pain and some in my left ovary. Well turns out I have another cyst. They won't say which side or how big. The nurse just said that it forms once you've ovulated until you start your period. Like NO Smurf. I know what kind of cyst that is. It a corpus leuteum cyst. I asked how big and she told me they have made a referral to the gyn clinic and will be mailing me my appointment. So now i have to see the doc who did my surgery and told me I don't have PCOS which is good because I will have her do a whole new panel on me. I want ALL of my hormones tested. We have been trying for a friggin year with no success thinking everything was normal. It just pisses me off. Sorry about the vent I just had to get it out.
Did any of you take Fertilaid for Women and have PCOS and it led to pregnancy? I don't know if it'll really work if you have PCOS. My cycles are fairly regular. I have one every month. And I have ovulated on time from my calculations.

i understand your frustrated. this is our 4th iui tomorrow and I swear my egg is going to release today. I got a positive opk last nite and feel burning on my right ovary where my follicles are. my re told me he think this is our last chance since I'm not producing enough follicles with the ivf meds. I am a total emotional wreck hoping these eggs will wait til tomorrow, if not it's probably a waste of money

Oh wow. I'm sorry to hear that. My doc told me I was good on all that but I think I want to make sure. I'm going to request she does my hormone testing again. But it's actually gave me hope. Now I'm more focused on losing weight so hopefully it helps us get pregnant within this year. If not it's ok too. I can go this year without getting preggo but if not this year I definitely will look into getting things looked into more next year.

I took fertilaid an fertibella but that didnt lead to pregnancy, i took maca root for one cycle and i got pregnant but it ended with a mmc(in nov '11) and 6 months later i got pregnant with this baby--and i'll be induced tomorrow night! but, to get this baby i had to do infertilty treatment---follistim shots that my insurance covered, luckily.

What was the reason why you had to take these treatments? Was it PCOS or did you have that and other problems? I'm not gonna take or order anything until speaking to my doctor. The only thing I might take is vitex. It's cheap and it's natural so it shouldn't hurt anything.

I took fertilaid // fertibella because at the time i wasnt doing opks and i didnt know if i was forsure ovulating or not (turns out i was, i wasnt tracking). I ONLY have pcos..but its a mild form--my af came on time and all that, but my RE thought i might have not very good egg quality but that could attribute to the depo shot i had in 2009 also.

That's what I'm afraid of. Not having good egg quality. What can they do for that. How did they find out if you have good egg quality or not?

My RE said pcos patients of his (previous patients) ended up having low or not good egg quality. Have you had yours and your dh chromosomes checked? that was a required, but expensive test for both of us. I took the follistim injectibles and that is my miracle medication..the only thing that worked for us...

No I hadn't had them checked? What does that test show? How much did it cost you? I'm gonna talk to my doc as soon as I go in.

For those of you who took Metformin and had it work did you just take your pills once a day or did you do it twice a day?

Anyone on here take provera and have sore and leaking breasts four weeks later?

Hi all. Name is Amanda. I FINALLY got a diagnosis on paper. Testosterone was 97, no periods and my ovaries were poly cystic on the ultrasound.

Has anyone had provera "trick" their body into a normal cycle? My doc is hoping that will happen this month. If not, I go back in April for Clomid.

I took it and started 11 days after stopping it (had a 160 day cycle before that). Today is CD 15. I had creamy/wet CM yesterday and EWCM today. We've been bd'ing every day besides one day since CD 10. I really hope it works.
