With this pregnancy, i was not taking metformin, so I can't really give any advice. When I got pregnant this past september, i was taking it...but i had a mmc 11/11 @ 8.5 wks. this time around, i didnt take it and baby is fine.

Yes, you can. Some doctors/people think it is harmful to the baby but studies have shown no effect on a developing fetus as long as you take it during the first trimester only.

Hey mommas. My name is Sherry, & I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 13. Here is my little story:

I got my first period on January 1st, 2003. I remember it clearly, because it was New Years day.. & the day my Grandpa had a heart attack & was taken to the hopsital. In the middle of all the chaos, I went to the restroom at the hospital, & noticed I was bleeding. I ended up bleeding for 7 days. I stopped bleeding, but then 2 weeks later, I started bleeding again. I bled for 2 weeks. I stopped bleeding, & went 2 months without bleeding. Bled for another week, & didn't have another period for 6 months. After that, my mom thought something could be wrong, so she took me so a gyno. After various tests & ultrasounds of my ovaries, I was diagnosed with PCOS. I have the acne, excess facial & body hair, cysts on my ovaries, & they are enlarged When I turned 17, my weight started getting out of control. There's more & more, but I'm sure you've heard it all before.

I have had 3 miscarriages. I was determined to not let it happen again, & my husband & I went see a fertility specialist. I was put on Metformin, Provera to get my period, Clomid, & then I took an Ovidrel shot to release the egg. After just ONE round of treatment, I ended up pregnant. I had a high-risk pregnancy & had ultrasounds almost every 2-3 weeks. I had horrible Hyperemisis, & was diagnosed with Placenta Previa at 15 weeks, only for the placenta to move around 25 weeks. I ended up with Pre-eclampsia, & had to have my son at 32 weeks, & 4 days.

But it was all worth it.

Here I am, almost 9 months pp. But of course, still dealing with the PCOS.

We're wanting to TTC once Aidan turns a year old, if not a little later.

But I really need to get my diet & weight under control.

What are some PCOS-friendly diets & exercises out there? Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

There is a book called the pcos diet. It is basically a low gi diet. Low carb or gi diets are recommended for women with pcos.

I was diagnosed in July with PCOS after 6 months of no baby for my husband and I. I'll be doing the south beach diet starting in September and then the DH and I will be trying again.

<3 It's been a long and stressful road, but it will all be worth it when I'm holding that baby of mine.

I took a few tests last week and they were sooo faint I thought they were evaps...
took one tonight and BAM...its dark....I'm still in shock and denial...
I am happy but ya know? Trying to keep calm

Well congratulations!!!! I'm very happy for you! Now you can make your first dr appt and get a sonogram to see how far along you are! Were you taking any meds to get pregnant?

Nope nothing...well Folic Acid and prenatals to help my body get ready....but nothing else...
I also lost mad weight since Christmas(about 100lbs) so that majorly helped...
I had been regular since Oct 11 so I knew something was up when I missed this last one...I'm crying now....this is sooo exciting

That's soooo great! With no meds? wow I am impressed! I just had my son 4 months ago and I just now am having normal cycles every month (first time in over 2 years!). Enjoy every moment of your pregnancy because it FLIES by! Is this your first?

I was surprised too I was thinking I'd have to go back to the doc and all...
but yes this is my first baby
my daughter whose 7(8 in Nov) came into my life when she was 2 and I've loved her like she was mine since then so I dont like to say she isnt mine  
shes more excited than me!
