It's very possible with the syptoms you listed. I would go and get diagnosed from your OB/GYN and they can help you manage your symptoms and help you start having regular periods.

Well I think I might because I started my period yesterday...they want me to go to the gynocologist to find out why my af was so late turns out the dr I went to was a OB so I'm getting a referral to a gyno next week

Quoting Asher's mommy:" What is PCOS?"
I just wanted to share my story. I recently gave birth to my son who is 2.5 months old, but I have pcos and was given metformin to regulate my cycles before starting chlomid. I got pregnant right away on metformin, and my doctors still dont believe thats how I got pregnant! Even though I hadnt had a period for over a year or so. Now my cycles seem to be regular since I had my son.

I am glad Metformin has worked for you . I have had PCOS for 11 years. Diagnosed when I was 18 just by symptoms alone but my blood work was always fine. Besides those darn cysts. Then I went to the doctor about 4 years ago and my insulin is high, glucose high, and testosterone is elevated. I was in denial for sooooo long that not treating my PCOS has now came back and bit me in the butt. I have taken Metformin for 3.5 years now, my endocrinologist (I also have an auto immune thyroid disease) thought surely I would get pregnant off the bat. I started my first round with Clomid this month. Exciting news....I ovulated!!!! This is something I have not done in probably years. I was so happy then my aunt said "you dont need to have a baby right now because you are too big and will get diabetes". BOM my bubble burst!!!

I got new prescription..but they had me on 1850mg/day and i couldnt handle it..so i stopped taking it. I was takin 1000mg 2x a day(so each pill was 500mg) and i ended up pregnant but mmc last november.

Hey ladies i just started metformin 5 days ago. I was ordered to take 500mg once a day for 2 weeks then 500mg twice a day thereafter. I wanted to know if i could go up to 500mg twice a day after only one week instead of the two? I have an appointment in october for clomid if I dont get pregnant on just the metformin. So im asking you ladies what you think.

I was on metformin and I felt terrible. I cannot remember the dosage I took but I found out from the last doctor I had that I am metformin and chlomid resistant. Best of luck to you!

Hi Ladies, I need some advice...In 2009 I was put on Metformin for suspected PCOS because I had the symptoms and weird hormone levels. I was on it for 3 months before TTC and got pregnant the first try. I think I was on Metformin until about 15 weeks and was put on progesterone from like 6 weeks to maybe 15ish weeks too due to a slight drop. It turns out I have no cysts on my ovaries but I have like every other symptom of PCOS (so technically I don’t have it I guess).

Anyways I started having regular periods after my son stopped breastfeeding and I have ever since. I got pregnant at the end of the May and ended up miscarrying around 9 weeks last week.
Has anyone had a successful pregnancy on metformin and then miscarried off of metformin? Should I ask to go on it again before TTC since I had a successful pregnancy on it?

Supposedly metformin decreases the risk of m/c. I took it up until 12 weeks in both of my pregnancies.
