Please know i am here for ya if ya need me! Thank you for sharing your story with us.

I was always around 110to 117 pounds in school but a size 6-7. When I shot up to 210 after seeing 4 drs. at that time they just said if I would lose weight I might get pregnant. I managed to get to 180 on my own, but basically was starving myself. I ate 1 meal a day and it was usually a can of soup. I drank water only. Then whenI was diagnosed and started the medsI went down to like 156. Then stress set in at my job and it started climbing again to like 178(they said the stress messed my insulin levels up more). ThenI got pregnant with Emily and went to 203. Had her and dropped down to 162 within the 1st 2 weeks pp. Now back up to like 175. The emotional roller coaster and the weight roller coaster drive me nuts! But they informed me last week I will have to be on my med for life.

Do you mean where she typed cysters instead of sisters? If so that is what we call each other. Actually it is soulcysters you know kinda like blood sisters in a way.

We would have never spent all our money TTC all those years had we know what the problem was. Had we know I could have simply started meds and went from there, but trying to find out and all those drs. tried this and that and each one would do the same things and we would get nowhere but more money loss. But something kept telling me to not give up ... don't take no for an answer. The not knowing was the hard part.

See to back my story up even further whenI was in high school I was raped. My hubby knew all about it because I told him long before we married.I guess so if he wanted to back out, change his mind or whatever he could. But he stuck by my side. By the time we got together married that is my sex drive was already zilch and my cycles not perfect. For the longest time we thought maybe something had happened to my insides so to speak during the rape. My poor hubby the 1st year of our marriage bless his heart was literally beat up at night. if he touched me once I went to sleep I came up swinging! He still stuck by me and he helped me work thru all that mess. The only part we were not sure on was did it do something to my insides. No doctor could seem to give me any answers. they all just took our money. Until I gave up and quit seeing doctors alltogether. But we trudged on, bound to overcome the posibility that it was from the rape and we were gonna beat it ... didn't know how, but somehow we would.

Then after giving up for a couple years we moved here in 1999 and had given up completely until 2003 when I was given the 1st PCOS article. We knew don't know how but we knew then it must not be from the rape and that was joyous to us. So we overcame that too! But the new battle began. That is where I can say you know the rest of the story! I so love my hubby and we love Emily more than we can ever express! I pray she does not end up with this mess!

Itried to figure where it came from and have heard in different articles that it can be passed down from other members in the genes. But I do not know of anyone in my family who had/has symtoms. No excess hair or anything. Both grandmas were heavy, but they a lot of baked goods you know the sweet tooth. Actually my moms mom is still alive and she says she had no symptoms and she had 4 kids. My dads mom had 6 kids. So I am not completely convinced. I think of it like I do cancer.I think a person is born with certain cells in their bodies and depending on those cells and all determines if you get it or not. BecasueI know many who never smoked a day in their life nor was around smokers and they died of lung cancer.

Anyway enough on me. Curious to know who here that has PCOS are you on meds? Which med(s)? Do you have symptoms? Which symptoms?

I count my blessings. TTC was very hard and disappointing to the point it was even a strain on our marriage. When we stopped after the m/c and a year later of just giving up thinking atleast we had Analisa we were blessed again. But for all those who have struggles with PCOS and TTC I wish you the best of luck and that there is hope!

I only had 1 m/c but after that I was just ready to not TTC anymore it is heartbreak that there are these girls who use abortions as BC method. Even though I am pro choice it just never seemed fair.

yep.. I know what you mean. Me too.. at first Gosh I was so mad.. with my very 1st m/s as I was in the ER a girl next to me was on the phone and she was talking to someone about how she was pregnant and she had had 10 abortions.. and I really freaked out!!!..  it was a horrible situation cuz I screamed at her like a lunatic and told her I was m/c my baby and how dare she aborted 10.. (some nurses there were shocked yet when they calmed me down they agreed with me..) yet.. now..
I have seen and reed many cases where some girls are just not ready.. and I have changed my view on it now.. I'm not necessarily pro-choice but I'm in a point now that I'm no one to judge and women fought for this right.. I read an article where a woman had a back alley abortion with some dude and it was so horrible that person punctured her uterus and she had her intestines coming out of her vagina.   It was a horrible thing to read.. and for a woman to go through that.. I prefer her to have proper care with a professional abortionist. Do you know what I mean?
having lost 3 babies myself.. I, like you think it's unfair.... yet now I view this abortion "issue" so differently.
We have not been in the shoes of those women.. but like you said those few that use it as a BC method.. that is just sick.

I'm hoping and praying that 2009 still has a baby in hand for me. ( I was Due April 2nd 2009 ) I would have been

today.

hugs to you girl and my very best wishes going your way! ♥

Is it possible to have pcos with somewhat normal cycles for the first 26 years of life, then extremely heavy cycles after that? I was on metformin for almost 3 years before starting clomid, that didnt work either. Then I had to go on b/c because i was bleeding so bad I became anemic. Stayed on that for 4 months, then stopped it and was pregnant a month later. Was told by 1st doctor I had pcos, the final doctor i went to said I didnt and told me I didnt need the met anymore. Have had the skin tags, hormone issues, weight gain that goes along with it, but only had period issues the last 10 years or so. Just wondering if anyone else had semi-normal periods but was told they had pcos.

I have no clue I never had a normal period since my first period. But everyone is different. My periods were really bad as a teenager I got my period twice a month sometimes I would just have it for the whole month. sometimes I would skip a month. But here and there I would have normal periods for a few months then everything would go out of whack. I have had weight issues and hirsutism sp? which sucks.
