Thanksgiving with a newborn

hey guys, so im due in less than 2 weeks, and Thanksgiving is on the 27th, my son will be only a few weeks old at the most, im wondering if it would be ok to take him out? to my family's house, is ok to have a newborn around all those people, i just dont want him getting sick, this is my first baby so i guess im being a little paranoid

I just postd something like this. Expect madison is a preemie. So im scared to take her over to my aunts for thanksgiving. I dont know. I think when madison goes to get her shot this month. Im going to ask her and see what she suggests.

personally, i would take him...but that's just me. just don't let everyone hold him all the time and whatnot.

As long as it's just to someone's house and nobody is sick, just make sure people wash their hands before holding him and he will be fine. Have fun mama!

But I'm also one of those horrible moms who took her out a few days after she was born.

Just have everybody wash hands before holding, and try to limit kisses  

awww, so she must be so tiny, yeah maybe i should ask the pedi before hand, just be on the safe side. how early was she? if you dont mind me asking, my mom had me at 26 weeks

My son was 3 weeks old on Thanksgiving. We took him out. Just don't pass him around and anyone that does hold him should wash their hands.

well i took my son all over the place from day one and he's just fine!   but it being right in the middle of flu season just take some precautions like make everyone wash their hands before holding him. change their shirt if its extra dirty or has smoke on it. if they are sick dont let them near him, etc...

i always carry a bottle of germx with me.. they have cheap little 50 cent bottles at walmart in the travel section that are perfect for diaper bags.

I guess I'm a horrible mama too lol. I took my daughter to walmart 3 days after she was born to grocery shop. I would never let any strangers touch her or get close enough to breathe on her though.

If you are planning on breastfeeding that will help your baby not get sick. I took my baby out at just a few days old because we moved when he was 1 week and I wanted my family to be able to see him before we left.

As long as no one is sick i think its fine. my daughter was 2 weeks early and weight 4 lbs 13 oz and we took her out shopping and stuff at 6 days old. just make sure people dont touch her face and wash their hands before they hold her.

I had madison at 28 weeks. She was one pound 13oz and stayed in the nicu for 74 long days .Got out on aug 31st. Now she is doing great and weighs well over 7 pounds now. She is tiny, well not so much to me anymore. But i dont know. im asking the pedi to be on the safe side.

i left the hospital and went straight to walmart!!! he was less than 48 hours old.
