wow in the states you guys go through so much! WHENEVER im sick or anything at all, i can go to any clinic or hospital and just hand them my medicare card and its all taken care of..i cant imagine paying so much for having my baby

I tried getting on my works insurance and they have open enrollment only once a year and its in April (I'll be due around April or May) We make too much for Medicaid so I called Anthem to try to get insurance thru them and they denied me also. They said no insurance company will pick me up if they know I'm already pregnant!Its crazy. The only option I have is to cut my hours to part time so that we can qualify for Medicaid. Then paying my bills will be my next problem.  

I have th same problem. Either I start working more hours to try to pay for insurance through my husbands job (which is going to be $360 a month) or I cut my hours in half and get medicaid.

I had TriCare sometime back (my stepdad was in the army) and I got bumped out b/c I got too old plus i was out of school for a year. I just moved in with my boyfriend of 2 years and found out I was pregnant (currently 8 weeks). I went to my general doctor from TriCare and got charged $70 for her to ask me if the pregnancy test came out positive and to give me an estimate due date!! She didn't even test me or gave me blood work!!! I cried b/c I could have used that money GAS!!! So there I was w/ no prenatal vitamins. I ended up going to the Health Department which I should have gone first. It was free and they gave me all the info & vitamins I needed.

I applyed for Medicaid about 3 weeks ago... how long does it take them to process the application??!! I read that DCF calls up for more info in about 10-15 days.. it has been more then that. The longer I go without seeing a doctor, the more worried I get!!

wow how horrible to be pregnant and no one will cover you. Thats how I am I'ts really sad I had medical but I hadnt renewed it then I found out i was pregnant july 11. went to the doctors didnt even know I didnt have it because I had reapplied in march of this year but again they discontinued me. know I'm going to be 4 months and have only been to the doctors twice and that was 2 months ago. I't really sucks because when people ask me how far along I am or hows the baby I have no idea really . I found out how many weeks I am by going on this website. Now I reapplied but they need my birth certificate whish i dont have i ordered it a month ago still has not came in then when it comes in I have to re reapply really stupid then it's going to take about another month. 

Whoa... didn't know how good I had it until I read some of these. Most of the time being a navy wife=fail, but not in the insurance department, especially if they don't make you go to their incompetent Navy doctors. (Sweeping generalization there, but IMO most Navy doctors=fail.)

i just applied for medicaid yesterday and it says it takes 15-30 days to proccess the application and then find out if im accepted. so hopefully it goes fast and they accept me! also, this whole time i had just regular insurance. i didnt get maternity in my insurance until the beggining of august!

I applied in May within a week of finding out I was pregnant and I just 2 weeks ago found out I was accepted. So if you really only have 85 days to go, I hope it goes faster for you!! Good luck!

my insurance also doesnt matter about his income, they gae it to me just cu i was prego, but when the baby is here im screwed.

I conceived while I was in S.C.....Well I had medicaid the day I left...........All good and wonderful..well we decided to move to P.A....I went a month without medical insurance because they took their dandy ol' time.....Crazy how its different state to state...My husband and I are like a few bucks below the state requirements....2714.00 is the state max.......Thank god.....I don't know what I would have done..because insurance co consider pregnancy to be an *existing condition* .....

I meant to say that I took my application to the office in S.C. and I had medical coverage the day I left the office..

I currently have medicaid and am 5 months. I just foundout that my husband makes to much money for us to qualify for medical benefits. We are a family of 5. The baby will make 6. How can the state pull benefits he only makes 1500a month gross so its more like 900-1000 a month. Im at my wits end it will bankrupt us if I dont find coverage since the state has decided to drop me. Any one have any suggestions?

yeah try like in the thousands just for the hospital stay. id look into medicaid if i were you
