17 and pregnant & in Australia
posted 12th Oct '06
Hello everyone
I haven't seen an aussie on here yet so i thought i would start a post im 17 and 12 weeks pregnant and loving it
I have a supportive boyfriend....even if his family hates me well his sister does (they are romanian) and my family are over the moon about it.
was just wondering what are the kinds of financial support everyone else gets all over the world. Here is australia there is centrelink and anyone who has a baby no matter if you work ( i work full time) or not you get $4000.00 after the baby is born.
Do they do the same thing in america, scotland and whereever everyone else is???????? or do you have different things.
Also on the ONLY aussie birth site i am the yougest one on there its great to find a site with people around the same age as me even if we are countries apart. What is life like for eveyrone else
Cheers
Jamie

wow...i wish i could get 4grand for having a baby. thats awesome though that ur country wants to help support your baby. the only thing i can think of close to that is WIC..they give u formula, milk, cheese and sometimes foodstamps, just helps low income mothers.
contgrats on ur pregnancy..im due april 13th!
