induction

I'm scheduled for induction November 12th so DH can be here in time. Wondering how many of you had an induction and ended up having a c-section? Thanks ladies

I was induced and had vaginal delivery

I was scheduled for an induction at 7 AM on February 8th-- but I did not make it that long! My water broke the night before at 6 PM. However, I never had strong (I could not even feel them) contractions on my own so I ended up having the pitocin started at midnight. This is a little different than a standard induction since my water broke on it's own-- but I did end up with a vaginal delivery!

for those who ended up with a c-section, was there anything that the doctor could've done differently in your opinion? A certain medication/induction method you would advise me against going with?

yeah, my step mom said ya know I known quite a few people that have gone the day before. As long as DH is here thats fine, but it scared me at the time thinking he wouldn't be here in time. Glad you got to go vaginally!!

I'm considering it, but I'm a little scared. I have to make up my mind by Friday.

I think I might have made my water break, LOL . I was honestly quite scared of the induction so I started walking around a lot a week before since my doctor said that *sometimes* that helps labor progress.

if we weren't in a time crunch I would wait it out, seems like less stress for the baby. Why are they doing one for you?

I thought about doing some walking so I was "more ready" when the time came, but don't want to go too soon. Last Thursday I wasn't dilated or effaced, so hopefully there is some progression when the time comes, the doc is hoping to just break my water

It's probably better that way-- the water breaking was pretty messy =D

I didn't like the feeling I got once they broke the water. Which would make sense I guess. I hear that the labor goes fast when you are induced and i can say that I think she came pretty quick even though it was probably 5 total hours. I had to stop pushing cause the Dr wasn't there yet and she was ready to come out so they had me do mini pushes just to keep her ready and not go back. Sounds bad but it wasn't.

My boyfriend works in Detroit, and I'm still in Memphis. The only way he can come home for the birth is if I know when I'm going to go into labor, and even then his job will only allow him to come home Friday and be back in MI in time for work on the following Wed.

I would go for the induction then, sounds like you've got a time crunch going on too. Good luck
