teen moms for a second time

posted 24th Oct '08
Okay im bored lol. so i want to hear you guys opions on teens moms getting pregnant with a second child while they are still teens. I myself understand that accidents happen. I am 18 and im pregnant with my second child. I was on bc when it happened but i chose to continue the pregnancy, considering that me and my husband are stable finiancially and emotionaly . Im not trying to start any drama just want a friendly discussion so no bashing. I just want honest opions on sitiuations like mine and others in the same boat. I have seen sitiuations that i dont agree with though like a girl i knew, she was 17 never tried bc or condoms and has 3 kids all under the age of 4. well thats MO whats yours??

I'd expect the same from a woman of any age who is bringing a planned child into the world- that you're financially stable, not relying on your man or your parents to support you or your children, that you have the time and inclination to raise another child and that you're not already on government assistance.

If you and your husband are financially capable and everything. I see no problem. I'm glad you are. I am 20 and my husband is 30, and we aren't financially capable of another one! But then again, we have 3 kids.

I think the teens that are 15-18 (not you) that try to get pregnant again are dumb. Most of them are living at home with parents and struggling to give their baby a good life. There is a lot more to raising a child than the love that you can give to them. They need money and stability.

Congratulations on your new prenancy!

my personal opinion is if it was a 'mistake' and you wernt trying then thats fine nothing you can do about it really unless you find a way to turn back time
however if you were TRYING....
thats a different matter

  agreed.

but then, in the OP's defense, at least she's married and financially stable. that's a lot more than i can say for some moms. i mean, hell, i'll be 23 next saturday and I'm not married.

no lol def. not trying. I almost dyed when the test popped up that second line, but i put alot of thought into it, and i felt that it was my responsibilty to bring this child in this world and give him/her everything possible like i do for the son i already have now.

I get where you're coming from but when you're in a partnership, finances are usually conjoined.
My boyfriend and I have both of our names on our bank accounts as well as our credit cards.
Technically I "rely" on him financially but they are our finances =)

ETA: I agree with everything else you said!

if ur not trying thats one thing but if ur 15-18 and TTC thats absurb.. the baby deserves stability and loving household and a mommy and a daddy .. i know a girl whos pregnant .. she doesnt have a job and her and her boyfriend .. have been involved in a hit and run accident .. i heard she was forging checks and pawning tvs .. well i went on her bfs myspace and it said " lets go fuck because i want babies" and then i get an email and shes telling me shes pregnant . That shit makes my heart break and its down right sick .... i can count about 7 girls i know personally that have had abortions and my ex best friend is the doer of two.. she wasnt on birthcontrol nor were they using condoms .. this also makes me wanna throw up

It happens. As long as their first one isn't being cared for by the girls parents or whatever. My friend had both of her sons by age 19, and shes a great mom. And as long as they wern't trying. Every situation is different though, so you can't really judge them all equally...

I was referring more to teenagers who aren't co-habbing or financing with their boyfriends and don't have the type of relationship you have with your boyfriend.
