this may be stupid but im alittle nervous...

I went to my doctor for the first time today. I didnt see the doctor today they just did blood work, and started my chart. I dont know this may sound stupid but the nurse has me nervous to see him. From what im getting from her he is very strict and doesnt allow any of his patients to eat fast food, hot dogs, bolgna, soda, or tea. Now i know to avoid fatty food and caffeine but completly? She said he will dismiss you if you gain to much weight? Can they do that, the doctor i had with my first son was nothing like that. The good thing about this docotr is that he is one on one. But the office was tiny, like none of the nurse didnt wear scrubs just regular cloths. I mean maybe im overreacting. I probably am but what would you guys think? Should i wait and see him or try to get a new doc? My first appt. actually with him is Tues.

I would wait and see him...maybe its not as bad as what you heard. Then if you still don't like him find anouther dr.

i would just go and see how it is first....sometimes the nurses can be bitches!

If you don't like him find another doctor to go to.
I'd be pretty upset if a doctor was telling me not to eat those types of foods. Those are some of my favs.  

i know it sucks i am craving tacos lately he better not expect me not to eat them at least in moderation lol

I would wait and see but i mean i have ate hot dogs through out my pregnancy something i have craved never liked them before.
and i dont drink much soda or tea ill sip on tea but i drank mostly water and juice. trust me i dont think anyones pregnancy goes right by the book. but if you dont like him then tell him u want another doctor

I would wait and see him. Maybe his nurse is just kinda mean at first because your new. I also think he might discourage you from eating too much fast food and stuff because its not good for you, but i doubt he'll dismiss you as a patient for eating it.

i would get another doctor. Not that there is wrong with this doctor but if you aren't comfortable with the way his office is run and from what his nurse has told you then chances are you won't be comfortable with him!!! I know from experience you need to be comfortable with your doctor. I wasn't with the doc i used with my first son and had alot of problems and i could never talk to them about it and make them understand. I hated it! With my second son i had an awesome doctor well i really saw his midwife/pa but i loved her!!!!!! She was so easy to talk to! i had an awesome pregnancy and found out the reason i had to many problems with my first. I think that made a huge difference in the way my pregnancy and labor went!! Just think about it and decide if you are comfortable with him or not if you have to see him once and then decide! Good luck and congrats on the pregnancy(sorry so long)
