Due April 5th
posted 11th Oct
Hi... My name is Loni and I am due April 5th. I was wondering if anyone wanted to exchange stories of being pregnant. This will be my second child. I am 25 years old but will be 26 by the time this little one is born. This pregnancy has been quite hard on me and I am now on bedrest until Oct. 24th until I have another ultrasound - I have a marginal placenta previa - where my placenta is laying lower in my uterus. So I have a lot of time on my hands... Please let me hear your stories...

I am sorry to hear that you are on bed rest, I am due on April 1, with my first baby. Last thrusday I started bleeding ( I also stoped on the same day) so on friday, I had an ultrasound, and my baby is fine, but I have something that in like (placenta previa) it starts with a s though, and I can't remember what it was called, but I know that my placenta has lifted or puuled aways from my uterus and is bleeding (hemorige) I am not on bed rest, but I am very limited in what I am allowed to do, I guess since my job is a desk job it's fine that i am here. I seen the doctor this last tues and I go back on the 24th of October. I hope everything goes well for you.

Hi Molly, what you are going through is kind of what my doctor is afraid of what will happen to me. I had bleeding/spotting at about 12 weeks... they did an ultrasound and everything was fine... then I started cramping with pressure and that is when they did another ultrasound at 14 weeks and found that my placenta is low. Having a low placenta can be normal but since I spotted my doc was worried. Make sure you are careful not to lift anything heavy or overdue anything... the placenta is really important! Though atleast you have a desk job - I am a stay at home mommy and go to school... sometimes I wonder if I will ever have a life outside the house... but I love being a mommy... Congrats on this being your first... are you excited? Have you been sick at all? Hope to hear from ya!

Loni,
I hope all is going well for you! I am only going to work until I am 8 months and than I am going to stay home, I am kind of excited to be a stay at home mommy, it will be a big change, but I think I am ready. I have always work a high pace job, that requires a lot of time and effort, and I have tryed to juggle school. So I am ready to just slow down and stay at home with my little girl.. I am so excited to finally have a baby it just feels like it's going so slow, but I think that it feels so slow, because all I do is count the days and read on her development everyday.
Anyways I have had bad morning sickness, except for it was all day sickness, it has actually got better about the last three weeks, now it just hits me at night when I lay down for bed. About the time the sickness went away, is when I started getting heart burn, and I get it so bad that I would rather go back to being sick all day long. The worst thing I have expenericed the first 14 weeks of my pregnancy, is thinking that I wanted something to eat, like KFC or a baked potatoe, and than getting it and just the thought of eating it would make my sick, and I would dry heave for hours, I never really actully threw up, just dry heaved all of the time. And now, all I want to eat is the same sandwhich from subway, I hate having to eat anything else, but I think I am finally getting over that a little bit.
How about you, have you been sick? If you don't mind me asking how much weight have you gained? I have gained about 15 pounds and people say I look like I am six months, but like my DR. says I am only showing so much for my first baby because my pelvis is titled forward and my utreus is set outside my pelvis area. My baby is all out front there is nothing in my back, he told me last week that I need to start wearing a back brace soon, which I probably need to get one. How old were you when you had your first child? Take-Care

Hi Molly and Kylie... I was 23 when I had my first and she to was a very easy pregnancy. Compared to this one - if the old wives tales are true - it has to be a boy because it is the complete opposite. I do love being a stay at home mommy... there are moments when I wish I had a job outside of my house - but I would miss out on so much with my children. They say that the first year of their lives is the most important... they develop their personality - and I want my kids to reflect my and Alex's... not a babysitter. Some people do not have an option for this - I am lucky enough to be able to be at home with them.
I did have a lot of morning sickness... I was a lot like Molly - I did throw up but I would have dry heaves for hours... I also would be drained of energy... I would seriously ly on the couch and cry because I felt so abnormal... it has gotten a lot easier in the second trimester though. My doc put me on a sleep aid and viatmin B6 - that helped a lot with all those symptoms... I even try to go off them now - within a day I am back to the dry heaves... I have also noticed that my taste buds are off... I will be so hungry for something... and as soon as I get a bit in my mouth - it doesn't taste good or the same... I end up not eating it and there are two things I tell Alex not to interupt - my eating and sleeping... give me them two and I will be happy.. haha.
My first pregnancy I put on 38 pounds... I had my doctor help me with a weight gain plan - so I wouldn't put on too much weight... that is the hardest part of pregnancy for me... With this pregnancy I have put on about 10 pounds so far... Most of my weight is in belly and breasts.... I thought big boobs would be nice - nope not pregnant boobs... they are not fun!
The reason I am on bedrest is because of the previa but I also spotted a couple of weeks back - so my doc doesn't want to take any chances... though when I go back to the doc - I should be able to find out the sex at my next ultra sound - I will be about 17 weeks along.. do you think we will be able to tell.. I hope so. In the back of my heart I am hoping it is a boy - I have had a weird feeling that it is... but if it is a boy... I would like to be done with having kids... I would have a little girl and boy... and that is enough for me - and Alex agrees...
Molly... Did you find out if it is a boy or girl... I noticed you said girl in your writing... did the unltrasound tech tell you? Little girls are heavenly - after lilly was born (my first)... I can't believe how much I finally realized who I was in this world... I am sure Kylie will agree. I am sorry to hear about the back brace situation - that is a tough one... I have back issues - just because my hips have moved and caused certain parts of my back to change - so I get back pain all the time... Keep your head up though... when you finally have your baby in your hands... you will probably forget all about how long it took for her to get here...
I am not 25... will 26 by the time this little one is born... how old are you? Are you excited - or was it unplanned? Sometimes that make pregnanct harder... Feel free to ask me any questions also... when I was pregnant the first time... I had no one to ask anything... I am the first out of my friends to have a baby... I will be honest but every pregnancy is different. Hope to hear from ya...

Loni -
I was fourteen and half weeks when I had my first Ultra sound, and he said it was a girl, so I hope you are able to tell, he said anywhere after fourteen weeks, is pretty easy to tell, but they like you to be about 16 to 22 weeks. Ryan isn't going to except it until our next ultra sound in two weeks (he wants a boy so bad). I am twenty four years old, and depending on when I have her , I might be 25. My due date is my birthday. Getting pregnant was way unplanned, but now that it's here I am so disappointed that I waited this long, I just kept telling myself, about the age of 26 I would be ready. My twin sister had her little boy when we were eighteen, and all of my friends have children, and they make it look so hard. But I am happy now and I am ready, and if this one goes okay, we are planning on getting pregnant agin in about one year, from April. Thanks for talking with me, I really don't have anyone, even though all my friends have had them, they are mostly rude, and think they know everything, and I think it's because most of them only have one child, have you ever noticed someone who has only had one, thinks they know it all and someone that has had more, knows they don't becuase every prgnancy is so much different from the next.

Molly-
Oh... I hope to find out soon what I am having... I am almost 16 weeks so my next ultrasound I should be able to find out... I did just find out last night that I have moved from marginal - to complete placenta previa ... so my cervix is blocked by my placenta... they just said things could get rough but in hopes they won't and I will probably have to have a C-section... It isn't that bad - the baby is completely healthy... I just don't like the decision being made for me...
My daughter was very unplanned... though you are not young anymore... you are at a good age for having a baby... You have a better sense of who you are when you are older... Yes... I have a sister who does not have kids but studied them as her major in college... so she has an answer for everything... I just sit and take it most of the time... Everyone thinks they have the beset answer for having and raising kids but all people are different - and we all have different ideas and perpectives... I was the first one out of my friends to have kids... so my friends basically disappeared - they all still like bar hopping and late nights... things I can't and really don't want to do anymore... so I lean on my family a lot and I have a couple good friends that just listen to me... It is hard with woman in general though - they can be real no it alls... The only advice I ever give someone when they ask about pregnancy is about labor - which is hard for all woman... I say - just keep an open mind when you go in... everyone knows their own pain tolerance... pay attention to it and when you can't handle anymore - don't be afraid of getting some relief... I had a bad nurse and it kind of wreck the experience for me... it was liked she tricked me into have a complete natural birth - which is okay now... but I don't like people lying or acting like that to a naive person... If you know what I mean...
Alex and I both want a little boy - if it is a girl... great ... but I hope it is a boy so I have one of each and can be done... If you are having a little girl... oh they are so fun to dress up and teach.... You will have so much fun! You can talk to me anytime - here is my email... loni500@hotmail.com... and don't worry about Ryan wanting a boy - I think all men want boys because girls scare the hell out of them... Alex thought the same thing... now them two are two peas in a pod... it is amazing to watch... Good luck babe!

Loni-
Thanks, my e-mail is hanks26@hotmail.com. The labor thing is probably the only thing I do ask a lot of question about to everyone, because I have decieded to do it natuarl, but I am also aware that if when the contraction start I have up to 5 Cm, to change my mind, and my mom said by the contraction, I will know if I can handle it or not. But GOSH, I get a lot of people exspecially my bosses wife, telling me I won't be able to handle it and that I am stupid to even consider it, becuase you can't even enjoy anything, I love hearing people prespectives on things and what they have learned themselves, but I just like to hear, I don't want them trying to change my mind, I get so upset. I am not married to Ryan, we were just dating, and we were both going out a lot before I found out I was pregnant, and all of my friends go out. So like my mom says, when you become pregnant or sick, is when you find out who your true friends are, it's not like I feel off the planet, but they treat me that way, they don't even call me anymore at all. I don't want them to call and invite me to the bar or nothing, but just becuase I am pregnant doesnt' mean I cant go to lunch or shopping, but I guess if you not a the bar with them you just don't have anything fun to talk about. I will for sure e-mail you, thanks for listen and talkin back and forth with me.

Hey Loni!! I see that we both are due around the same time, we're both the same age, AND we both live in Minnesota! COOL! Plus this is my second too... first was a girl, who is now 5. We're thinking it's another girl, but everyone else around us thinks it's a boy. I have my next appt tomorrow, then we schedule the first ultrasound for about 4 weeks after tomorrow. I'm super excited to find out what this one is, we never found out with my daughter. How's school going for you?? I'm a fulltime student and it's getting CRAZY for me!

Congratulations Jeanie 5th... good going! Yes you do get a little crabby while you are pregnant.. all those harmones agoing.
I wasn't going to post anything to Toymama! But I will say if she is that "Janet Wiggins Posey" I hope none of you gave her any information on yourselves! She sounds off kilter a bit. Plus before she edited her posts, she said she wasn't interested in adopting again then on here she said she had been matched? That doesn't make sense to me. And she has two kids of her own. Then I read in archives from one of her local boards that she was wanting to adopt her grandchild. All of that doesn't add up to me.
