Fussy baby :( Help

posted 15th Oct
Evan is 5 weeks old today and for the past week he has been soooo fussy!!! I breastfed/ formula supplemented him for 3 1/2 weeks (he was on Similac Advanced Soy formula). I noticed the soy formula seemed to make him really gassy and uncomfortable. So 2 weeks ago I switched to the Similac Advanced cows milk formula. Now he is even gassier, fussy, and spits up more. I hate to pay a bunch of $$ for the Alimentum (sp) formula if I don't have to... has anyone tried the Similac sensitive stomach formula? Or do you have any other suggestions? P.S.- I use the Mylicon drops and they don't do much

I think it's the milk because my son is on Similac Soy and sometimes he is gassy and at times doesn't poop a lot not only that now he pukes a lot and she says he has reflux which hasn't been getting better with thickening the milk. I think sensitive is the one I should've chosen as this formula thing isn't working. My next step is Carnation Good Start, I hear great things about that formula.

try Parents Choice Gentle. Its the same thing as Enfamil Gentlease, but its even easier on baby's tummy. My daughter has been on it for 4 months now and she's doing great!

ETA: parents choice is a walmart brand

Really? Did she have the same problems before you switched her formula?

i never breast fed, but she was a lot gassier on Smiliac and now she very rarely seems to have any problems. the few days she does get gas i just give her some mylicon drops and it goes away. PC is aLOT cheaper than the other formula's too so its great!!

i don't know about the formula but i do know one thing.. DON'T switch him around to much. that will really upset his belly. we made that mistake with Scarlett. first we tried bf and it didn't work. then we tried 3 diffrent formulas in like 5 weeks time (my miswife was a retard) and it was a HUGE HUGE mistake. She stopped eating all together for a little wile. go to your doctor and ask them wht to do. find one together and stick to it for at least 4 weeks. if he isn't better by then go back to the doctor and try something else.

you have ti give their litlle belly time to adjust.

Yeah I was thinking that... his next pedi appt isn't for 3 weeks so maybe I will switch it and stick with it until then

Also, parents choice Sensative. My pedi said it is exactly the same as Nutraigen just the off brand. Peyton went from $30.00 16oz nutraigen to $15.00 32oz pc sensative with NOOOO difference!
