Please help me

What does 4/5 means in terms of the baby getting ready to come? My midwife said I am dropping etc and the baby could come in the next two weeks.

I am so not ready yet as I am yet to buy the furniture 4 the nursery ( I know really late) I have the crib getting delivered next tuesday becasue we had problems with it and only have the change table ready to go.... What else can I do?

the nursery is painted and ready to set up but I havent found a draw set to match the crib yet.......

I also need to pack my hospital bag.... What should I be doing now and what does what the midwife said mean?

I am guessing she meant 4/5 cm dialated...? Which i don't think would give you 2 more weeks. That to me would mean to jump on the ball and get EVERYTHING you wanted to get done before baby gets here done! Good luck

Hi there,

I'm new to this site and just passing through I noticed your post.
Don't stress your not dialating!
The midwife is just trying to tell you that your baby has begun to descend into your pelvis. When the baby starts to make it's journey into the pelvis they count in 5ths. Starting at 5/5, 4/5, 3/5, 2/5, 1/5 then the babies head becomes engaged. So your only at 4/5s so I wouldn't start warming up the car just yet. As for the nursery don't stress out about furniture. All your baby needs is a safe place to sleep. He or She won't notice what colour the walls are or where the clothes are kept. I would however start to pack the nappy bag.
If your baby is like my first you will need lots of singlets, throws and a dummy just in case. For yourself make sure you pack extra undies and pads, nipple cream if your breast feeding and don't forget the camera.
Just sit back and enjoy the quiet while you still can and just try to rest. It's also a good idea to squeeze in a couple of things that you won't be able to do with a baby in your arms. Have fun and good luck.
