How do you "discipline" your baby

posted 13th Oct
I know you can discipline babies because they want to explore and learn about everything. But Kayden is at that stage where I say "no" and he does it anyways. He listens to me a lot but sometimes he looks at me smile and does w.e he wants to or at least try because I stop him.

Do you just say no repeatedly or what?

Not much you can do besides say no and remove them from the area.

my sister in law started doing that 1-2-3 thing. and my niece says 2 for her, i don't have children yet, but what ever you chose if you don't follow through with it they aren't gonna care! it is incredibly funny to watch though!!!!

I redirect his attention into something that is safe for him to play with. I try to say "no" as little as possible.

Thanks everyone that is usually what I do, I always move him somewhere else but he is just stubborn. Now he would throw everything on the floor, his toys, phones, TV control, ANYTHING.

I tell her no in a strong voice (so she doesn't think I'm playing with her b/c she will laugh) If she keeps getting into it (b/c she pretty much only gets told no when she is getting into something she isn't supposed to) I tell her no as touch her hand with my finger and take her away from whatever it is she is getting (in my mind it shows her that she is doing wrong.. I'm probably wrong though) Most of the time she stops what she is doing... sometimes she looks at me to tell her no when she is getting into things she isnt' supposed to. I try to let her explore as much as possible, but she likes light sockets too much!!!

lmfao.

Now that he's one we just tell him "no" a few times, he knows what "no" means by now.If that doesn't work I count to three, usually he will get it by then & stop whatever it is he is doing. If not I redirect his attention to something else.

Wet hands work just as well. You just have to perfect the Mommy wrist action. Where you snap your wrist back then forward, so that your fingers wrap and make contact after the palm of your hand.

I will have to try that next time my children decide to not listen to me! Thanks for the great idea!
