Epidural II........

posted 13th Oct
I made a topic awhile back about fearing the epidural b/c it hurt when I had my little girl..anyways some ppl posted that it hurt and some posted that it didnt..I wonder why I felt mine? I am really nervous I am being induced tomorrow..if I could just stop thinking about it would help but there is no way...does anyone know if there is anything I could tell the nurses or anestesiologist that would help???? any suggestions????????

You felt pain the entire time the doctor was putting the epidural in?

The numbing shot was the only thing that hurt me both times I had the epi. It stings.

That was the only "pain" I had also. Just the numbing shot in the beginning.

Yes, or a small bee sting. It's just a quick numbing shot.

thats it. they numb you w/an injection. IF that is all you felt last time, it was just the numbing meds. Ofcourse you're going to feel something but, is should just be a tiny bee sting at the most.

some hospitals are fucked up. Just the way it goes. just explaine to your nurse that you'd like an epidural but, tell her exactly what happened last time and that you're scared.
maybe ask for a dose of Nubain to calm your nerves and help you sleep a bit.
I got a dose in mine about 5 mins before the nice epi guy came and pluged in my back 10 mins after my epi, i was numb and fast asleep. My daughters head woke up up about 15 mins before she was born.
