When did your preemies start solids?

Angelina will be 5 months old on the 17th. She is probably a little over 9 pounds now. She was born at 30 weeks and 3 days and weighed 3 pounds 7 ounces. My question to all you preemie moms is when did you guys get the green light for solids? At their actual age of 4-6 months or adjusted age? We have an appointment on the 23rd but I was just curious. I think I started my son at around 6 months on the rice cereal. My ped is rather conservative and said he recommends starting rice cereal at 6 months. Do you think she will be started at 6 months or 8 months? Just curious.....

my neice was born at 28 weeks and they told my SIL to wait till she was 7 months from her actually due date. does that mkae since?

My daughter was born at 32 weeks..
I'm waiting until she's 6 months, and if she doesn't seem interested in it then I'm going to try again at 8 months..

I would still ask your doctor though just to be safe.

Doctor said maybe when she is 6 months. I was just curious when the other moms started.

my friends baby was born at 34 weeks and they told her 6 months

6 months from the day she was born or her full term date

6 months actual I think. We didnt really go into depth.

Thank you ladies. I just feel kinda bad cause she already stares at me eating and starts mimicking me, lol. I know she is still tiny though.

normally you want to wait until they're the adjusted age that you would normally start solids. my son was full term and because he was small, i was actually recommended that we wait until 5 months. also if your baby if BF, you want to wait a bit longer. 

if shes still small, i'd wait because her digestive system may not be ready for it just yet

Ok..... thats what I was thinking. She is still so small (although she has gained some chub in the last couple weeks). And yes she is breastfed.

Hello Tasia my baby boy was 35weeks 5Lb9Oz he will be 5months soon and I will be giveing him solids then an I breastfed as well I for sure won't stop just cause I'm putting him on solids he will get both my son looks at anyone thats eating at the time in really wants it so I see it as time to let him have hes own if you do give him food be sure to start with just a lil bit of rice cereal and pump the milk for it but in the end it is really up you when you do....

I have been feeding Malia for about a mth now I started her off with oatmeal cereal an then I started adding fruits an she does pretty good with it an she loves her juice.But I did not ever ask the Dr I did on my own a when I went they told me that was fine because they want her doing things that a normal 6mths old would do so......Idk ask when you go back to the Dr

I started Andrew on solids at 9 months adjusted age 7 months.
